Since this was the first weekend that nobody was a) sick or b) working, we decided to go to Magic Kingdom for the day. The wait times were not awful and we were able to go on quite a few rides.
The kiddos and Scott went on Carousel of Progress for the first time. I have no idea how Scott has never been on this ride before. No, seriously. We went on Buzz, the Laugh Floor and the Tomorrowland Speedway after.
Clearly, we worked up an appetite and had to stop for soft serve the size of our heads.
After the soft serve break we walked around the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House. This was another attraction that Scott has never visited. I have no idea how this is possible. I'm pretty sure this was the first time for the kids, too. They loved it so much that we walked it twice.
Yes, we walked up and down that flippin' tree house twice.
Then we were back in Fantasyland. Our whole day kind of revolved around our Fastpass Plus. The jury is still out on this for me. That's a lot of pressure when you get up to the kiosk and have to decide what three rides for the day you want a Fastpass for.
Anyway, our next ride was Winnie the Pooh which has always been the kiddos favorite and our final Fastpass was Ariel's under the sea whatever the rest of that super long name is.
The kiddos also went on Dumbo with Scott. I sat that one out. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love that flying elephant, but when the wait time is 25 minutes and all of those people are in the waiting play area, I'm perfectly fine sitting outside in the wide open space with plenty of clean oxygen and minimal screaming people.
The only new downside to the Storybook Circus area is the whole clown thing they have going on over there. No, really. They have an entire band that is dressed up as clowns. I heard the announcement that they were playing and I promptly hightailed it to the flying elephant to wait for them. Thankfully, the timing was perfect and they were about to get on. It also started raining and the clowns were cancelled. I cried zero tears over this.
On the way out we stopped in the Emporium to see what cool new Frozen items they had and guess what? They had zero. Yup, not one single item. They have been sold out for weeks and will not be getting anything in until March. Soooo....Jill settled on a stuffed Marie. The Aristocats is her new favorite, so it was a great substitute.
Marie is officially a member of the family, too. We had to hold hands on the way to the tram. She also has her own blanket and pillow in Jill's bed.
All in all it was a fun day full of a few surprising firsts. I hope all of you had a great weekend as well!
