Bonding with Busia

This week has been kind of crazy. None of us have really been feeling all that well and I think poor Aaron has caught the worst of it. However, we did have a great time with my Mom before the illness hit the house.

My Mom came in last Tuesday and stayed with us until this past Tuesday. I was able to take some time off work to hang out with her and it was a much needed break. We took her to a few places she had never been before, like Keke's (our favorite breakfast place).

We were also able to pick up the kiddos from school each day, which was a nice break for them, too. We spent a lot of our afternoons playing board games, and maybe Busia was a little competitive with the 6-year-olds.

She pretty much wiped the floor with them in Sorry, but had her rear end handed to her in Yahtzee by Miss Jill. And yes, she really did throw her arms in the arm when she won, against two 6-year-olds.

We also played some mini golf, went for frozen yogurt and just had an all around good time. Naturally, we spent a day at Disney, too.

The kiddos wanted to go to Hollywood Studios, so that is where we went. We checked out the vaudeville act that they have in the morning, which neither of my children wanted to participate in which resulted in none of us scoring a dream Fastpass.

We did catch the Indiana Jones Stunt Show complete with Kurt and Brenda Warner. I almost died. Then we had some lunch, went to the Little Mermaid Show and ended at Beauty and the Beast. It was so insanely hot outside, we knew it was time to call it a day and head back home to cool off.

We cannot wait for Busia to return in July with Dzia Dzio, Kevin, Meghan and Adam!

Back to Reality

My parents left this morning to go back to Chicago (boo hiss!). The past two weeks have flown by and I could not believe it was already time for them to leave. The kiddos definitely got used to having them around and enjoyed the extra cuddle time.

I'm going to miss having my parents around too. It was nice to have them here and it was definitely nice to have some of my Mom's home cooking. She and I made her chili recipe, which is hands down the best chili I've ever had.

Thanks for spending all of that time with us Busia and Dzia Dzio!
