Not so Fantastic Sam's

Yesterday we took Aaron for a much needed haircut. He was starting to resemble Shaggy from Scooby Doo, minus the bell bottoms, obviously.

We intended to take him to a barber shop in Celebration. This shop did a really great job on April's boys hair, and I think they did Lani's boys once? So we loaded the kids up and headed out. As we were looking for a parking spot we noticed, much to our surprise, there was no barber shop. So we needed a plan b, and fast since Scott had to leave for work.
Scott remembered that there is a not so Fantastic Sam's on the way home, so we decided to stop there. This was mistake number one. Mistake number two was actually walking in the door, and three was putting Aaron in the chair. We were, um, "greeted" by a hair "stylist" and she just walked to the back of the "salon" (I know quote overload, but I can't really call her a stylist, and it's not a salon). When she came back with the booster seat we put two and two together and realized she would be cutting Aaron's hair. Ok, this woman had the personality of a wet noodle (Scott says a wet noodle has more personality, but I feel generous) and the only words she said were "how do you want it cut?" and "you need to hold his hands" (more on that later).
So she started chopping cutting Aaron's hair and he wanted nothing to do with it. I was holding his hands so he wouldn't get in the way, but his hand got away from me and honest to God, she wasn't paying attention and the scissors almost closed on his hand. I SWEAR TO GOD! I even yelled out "OH MY GOD!" and her response? "You need to hold his hands". Um you need to watch what you're cutting lady, I was holding his hands, but let's face it, he's a toddler.

She finally finished and, well, it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. We were just happy to be getting out of there. Wet Noodle tried to bribe him with a sucker but he wanted nothing to do with it, he was pissed. Miss Jill on the other hand was eyeing the whole basket and snagged a pink one (naturally).

Aaron's tears stopped once we got outside and he saw an "airpwane". Airplanes are his newest obsession by the way. We are alerted to every single one that flies over the house, which is a lot. I'm glad we don't live by the airport, I'd probably lose my mind.

Needless to say we will not be visiting not so Fantastic Sam's anytime soon.

Oh and PS. I would like to again thank my Dad for asking the kids if they were eating cookies at 4:30 pm via Skype (he even signed it fyi). I cannot wait until you are here and in the room next to them so they can come jump on your bed in the middle of the night :) LOVE YOU!

Uh oh...I'm taking my two for haircuts today. This will be Baby A's third cut (she was born with a full head of hair that she never lost), and Baby B's first. We're going to my hairdresser, who is awesome, but I'll have to admit that seeing the title of this post on Multiples & More did give me a tiny sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach anyway. :)

Glad you guys survived with all your fingers, toes, and ears in tact.

I can't believe it when people can be so impaitent and mean when little kids are involved. Ugh. I have had a couple experiences like that too and one was even at a salon specifically for kids! I have now resorted to just taking them to my stylist or doing it myself!
