We'll just start with the good news, huh? Aaron has been fever free all day, thank God! I think the antibiotics have finally kicked in full blast. Now the bad news...
I took Jill to the pediatrician today and we figured it was the same thing Aaron has so just give her the antibiotics and she would be fine too. I got her and Aaron home, put Aaron down for a nap since he fell asleep in the car and tried to put Jill down too, but she wanted nothing to do with and something told me just let her sit out with me. I put on Blue's Clue's and started making my grocery list. She was happy sitting and coloring and then I looked over again and she was laying on her stomach. I called out to her "Jill are you tired? Do you want to take a nap?". Then she started to convulse, not as bad as Aaron, but I knew what was going on. I was texting Scott and calling 911 at the same time (thank you Brighthouse for finally fixing that). Fire Rescue/EMS was here within minutes and by that time I had everything ready to go. As they were walking up she seized again. My wonderful neighbor Sherri stayed with Aaron while we got Jill in the ambulance and waited for PawPaw to get here. Jill was the polar opposite of Aaron in the ambulance and fought the whole time. Her fever kept climbing and was at 103.8(on her forehead) before we pulled out of the subdivision. Joe, the EMS in the back with me, gave Jill a suppository of Tylenol to help break the fever and we both held cold compresses on her. Nothing was working and before you knew it she was over 105. Scott said when he saw this text his foot hit the floor in the car and he was flying down the highway. When we got to the hospital Jill had blood drawn (after five attempts), urine taken, nose swabbed and a chest xray done. She was also started on IV fluids and given Motrin. Finally her fever came down, she ate some Jello (which she loved) and finally calmed down. The chest xray showed that she has the beginning of bronchitis and the seizures were (like Aaron's) because her fever spiked so fast. After she had her antibiotics we were ready to leave. She is doing much better right now and has not had a fever since we have been home. I cannot thank the EMS and Fire Rescue crews that responded to our home on both days. I owe my babies lives to you and your quick response. Thank you Sue, Bridget, Joe and Brent for everything, I seriously cannot say thank you enough! Thanks also to Sherri and Peg my neighbors for being there to help me while all of this was going on. Thanks to Mimi and PawPaw for being my "first responders", means more than you will ever know. And finally, thank you to Scott for being the rock that I needed while all this happened. I felt like I was losing everything on both days, but you were there to support me, I love you so much!
I will keep everyone posted on how they are doing, and thank you for all your kind words and prayers, it means so much!
