In honor of the 2nd blog anniversary over at Multiples and More, I'm running a few giveaways of my own today! The first giveaway is from my darling friends at Frito-Lay.
Frito-Lay has come out with some new chips from Tositos and SunChips. Both of these are our favorites anyway, so I was really excited to try the new flavors. Tositos now comes in a Hint of Jalapeno and a Hint of Jalapeno Jack. SunChips now comes in Jalapeno Jack as well.
Now, Scott and I are not normally big jalapeno fans. You won't find them on our nachos or anything else that one would find jalapeno's on. This being said, Scott was more skeptical than I was when we tried the new chips. And what was the verdict? We both LOVED the Hint of Jalapeno and Hint of Jalapeno Jack Tositos. No lie, we ate half a bag in the first sitting, they were that good and didn't feel horrible about it either. Tostitos are made with all natural ingredients – corn, healthier oils and salt, they pack 8 grams of whole grains into each serving.
Thanks to my friends at Frito-Lay I was also able to go to the store and pick up a package of the SunChips with Jalapeno Jack. OMG you guys...so good. SunChips multigrain snacks pack a punch with 18 grams of whole grains per serving and now they are available in Jalapeno Jack flavor for an even spicier snacking experience!
They also sent over some really yummy dip recipes to go with their new chips. Here's the recipe for the Green and Red Tapenade:
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups pimento-stuffed green olives, drained and rinsed
1/3 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained
1 ½ teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
2large garlic cloves, chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons chopped parsley
Instructions
In food processor, pulse olives, tomatoes, lemon juice and garlic until coarsely chopped. With motor running, slowly add oil. Add parsley; pulse just until parsley is evenly mixed in.
Here's the recipe for Southwestern "Caviar"
Ingredients
2 (15-ounce) cans black beans, drained and rinsed
½ cup chopped green onions, bulbs and green tops
½ cup diced green bell peppers
½ cup diced red bell peppers
Juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon olive oil
1 jalapeƱo, stemmed, seeded and chopped (for spicier caviar, do not seed)
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
In large bowl, gently toss all ingredients until evenly mixed.
I made the green and red tapenade which was really yummy. I may try and make the "caviar" as well, it sounds really yummy, doesn't it?
