For those of you that don't know what Thanksgiving Thursday is, it is the one time during the week where you stop and basically count your blessings. Even if you've had one of those weeks, I promise you can find at least one thing to be thankful for, no matter how big or small.
This week I am thankful for:
Scott and all he does for us. He worked two doubles in a row so we could have an extra fun time in Chicago.
Aaron's cute sayings, like yesterday he told me he was a real boy, and the day before he told me seeing Daddy was fun and that he loved seeing Daddy. *melts my heart*
Jill's wicked awesome dance moves, the kid kills me. We saw Rio yesterday and she was practically doing the samba in her seat.
Parents who never cease to make me laugh, and then make me laugh harder when I tell the story to someone else.
Buy One Get One Half Off at Stride Rite...hollar
A pretty decent bill of health at the dentist yesterday. It's been several (more than 5) years since I've been, I know I know, and to walk out with only 3 minor cavities is quite the accomplishment. I also have to have my wisdom teeth yanked and I guess I'm thankful for that.
A great double date with our friends over the weekend, always love getting together, just wish we lived closer.
An opportunity to give back in a big way. Pampers is giving me a $50 gift card to use to give back and I'm going to be helping South Lake Pregnancy Center. Read my post at Multiples and More to learn more about it.

This week I am thankful for:
Scott and his support. I cannot believe we will be coming up on 5 years of marriage. I'm not going to lie, it hasn't been the easiest 5 years, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you!
Aaron and his latest train obsession. I mean he's always been interested, but it is now a full on obsession and it's quite possibly the cutest thing in the world!
Jill and the expression on her face when she opened her Tangled DVD. Totally worth every penny!
Family that is supportive no matter what!
An amazing 2 years with Multiples and More! I cannot believe it's already been 2 years! Thank you to everyone who has helped make it what it is today!

In honor of the 2nd blog anniversary over at Multiples and More, I'm running a few giveaways of my own today! The first giveaway is from my darling friends at Frito-Lay.
Frito-Lay has come out with some new chips from Tositos and SunChips. Both of these are our favorites anyway, so I was really excited to try the new flavors. Tositos now comes in a Hint of Jalapeno and a Hint of Jalapeno Jack. SunChips now comes in Jalapeno Jack as well.
Now, Scott and I are not normally big jalapeno fans. You won't find them on our nachos or anything else that one would find jalapeno's on. This being said, Scott was more skeptical than I was when we tried the new chips. And what was the verdict? We both LOVED the Hint of Jalapeno and Hint of Jalapeno Jack Tositos. No lie, we ate half a bag in the first sitting, they were that good and didn't feel horrible about it either. Tostitos are made with all natural ingredients – corn, healthier oils and salt, they pack 8 grams of whole grains into each serving.
Thanks to my friends at Frito-Lay I was also able to go to the store and pick up a package of the SunChips with Jalapeno Jack. OMG you guys...so good. SunChips multigrain snacks pack a punch with 18 grams of whole grains per serving and now they are available in Jalapeno Jack flavor for an even spicier snacking experience!
They also sent over some really yummy dip recipes to go with their new chips. Here's the recipe for the Green and Red Tapenade:
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups pimento-stuffed green olives, drained and rinsed
1/3 cup chopped sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained
1 ½ teaspoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
2large garlic cloves, chopped
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 tablespoons chopped parsley
Instructions
In food processor, pulse olives, tomatoes, lemon juice and garlic until coarsely chopped. With motor running, slowly add oil. Add parsley; pulse just until parsley is evenly mixed in.
Here's the recipe for Southwestern "Caviar"
Ingredients
2 (15-ounce) cans black beans, drained and rinsed
½ cup chopped green onions, bulbs and green tops
½ cup diced green bell peppers
½ cup diced red bell peppers
Juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon plus 1 teaspoon olive oil
1 jalapeƱo, stemmed, seeded and chopped (for spicier caviar, do not seed)
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
In large bowl, gently toss all ingredients until evenly mixed.
I made the green and red tapenade which was really yummy. I may try and make the "caviar" as well, it sounds really yummy, doesn't it?
To celebrate the launch of these new flavors and help celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Multiples and More, Frito-Lay and I are giving away, to one lucky reader,The winner will receive (1) bag each of the three below new flavors: · Tostitos Hint of Jalapeno
· Tostitos Hint of Jalapeno Jack
· SunChips Jalapeno Jack
For a required entry, simply tell me which flavor you are most excited to try.

I'm working on a post for Multiples and More about getting kids out of a food rut, you know when they only will eat one thing and only that one thing no matter what time of day it is? Ours is toast, waffles, bagels and chicken nuggets. Quite the combo right?
For a while I was making their nuggets from scratch and then Winn-Dixie closed by me and there went my buy one get one deal on chicken, so I resorted back to the super simple Tyson nuggets. I watched Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution and saw what went into chicken nuggets, threw up a little in my mouth, and then *yuck* continued to serve them to my kids. I'm making a vow to stop serving that crap to them (really, it is crap) and anything that has an ingredient that I cannot pronounce.
I have to admit I got really lazy towards the end of the year. With everything going on, and going back to school it just became overwhelming for a moment. Now I'm over it and fed up with the crap that is out there for people to eat. 90% of what is sold in supermarkets, quite frankly, is garbage. This is my new years resolution, to stick to my guns about nutrition and set my kiddos up for success. Let's hope I don't flake out again this year.

This week I am thankful for:
Scott and all he does, especially with his crazy schedule!
Aaron performing the Animal part of this video:
Jill's AWESOME dance moves to Beyonce's Single Ladies. I have to get video of this, I was almost in need of a Pampers when she busted out her super sweet dance moves.
Amazing family!
Texts from my niece on her 21st birthday, 'twas hilarious, but made me sad that I wasn't there :(
The past year and a half with Lani as the co-author of Multiples and More. I'm going to miss you as my co-author homeslice.

This week I am thankful for:
Scott taking care of all of us sickies over the weekend. Somehow he never got sick (knock on wood), which of course I'm thankful for!
Aaron's humor. The kid has some awesome comedic timing already, it will serve him well in the future, I know it. It was also probably get him out of any trouble that he gets himself into.
The extra hugs Jill has been giving out. Also, some of the comments that come out of her mouth, like last night when she caught her reflection and said "Wow! I pretty!"
Conversations with my parents that make me laugh long after we have hung up.
Mimi and Paw Paw coming with us for Jill's first haircut. So glad they could be there for it!
Little surprises throughout the week.
The GOMOTT sale this weekend. I always manage to get a ton of stuff for pretty much nothing, what's better than that?

My friend Lani is hosting her, what's becoming annual, Blog for a Cure Party that helps the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Here's her story:
Well.. it's that time of year again. Fall is upon us, I am training for a half marathon, and I am once again going to shamelessly promote my upcoming blog event, the Blog For A Cure Blog Party. I began this journey last year, when I found out that a family member had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. She is someone just like you and me- a mom with a husband and beautiful young daughter. An active, healthy woman. And a really, really good person.I was floored. She began a rigorous treatment regimen of chemotherapy, and is still fighting her battle. It is one that can never be truly won, but she continues to fight. I am in awe of her strength, and it inspired me to want to fight, too.
Then came Team in Training. It's a really great fundraising program in which participants support their loved ones who are fighting cancer by training for and completing an endurance event, while raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. It's a big commitment; I have to raise $1,750.00 by Dec 7th. And since I do happen to have 2 year old triplets and a gull time (outside of the home) job, I find that fundraising online is the most effective way to fit it into my schedule, since I can do it from home.
Last year I organized the first "Blog For A Cure" fundraiser, and it ended up raising almost 1,000 dollars. This year, I have worked even harder to get some fabulous prizes to give away to the participants, and I want to reach $2,000.00. I think with the support of my online community, that goal can and will be reached!
Today I'm the featured blogger at Multiples and More! I know what you're thinking, totally unfair since I'm a co-author, but Lani and I were talking and we realized nobody really knows about us, except our names and whatever we wrote in the 'about us' section. It was definitely interesting being on the receiving end of our interview. Thanks for the great questions Lani!
In other news, we went to Mimi and Paw Paw's yesterday for some labor day festivities that should have included swimming, but you know, it rained....a lot. The kids seemed unphased because they got to play with their favorite plastic containers and spoons. Makes me wonder why we buy toys.
Don't forget to stop by my review blog and enter the Van's All Natural Recipe Contest!
Very seldom do I answer the QOTW at Multiples and More because I think it's weird to answer my own question, or one that Lani and I just talked about. But this week really wanted to share on this one, so here we go. This week was more of a writing prompt than a question:
Write a list of 10 surprising things about yourself
Scott and I dated less than a year before getting engaged, and we were married a year and a few weeks after we got engaged.
When the right sippy cup top isn't on the right sippy cup it throws my whole day off, I have to fix it. Some may call this OCD, I call it normal.
I could watch any and all episodes of Friends a million times and never get sick of them. Love that show!
I own the Lizzie McGuire Movie and think it's awesome. Don't judge, it's cute.
I never get my hair colored the same way, I always change something about it,
I will always stop channel surfing on the radio if I hear: "Don't Stop Believing", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Layla", any Beatles song and "Gimme that Girl" by Joe Nichols.
I love to bake and hate to eat it. I think I ate enough sweets in my childhood.
I don't like beef, but always make an exception for the braised short ribs in France during Food and Wine. I literally want to die afterward, but it's so worth it. They are delicious!
I watch General Hospital, everyday. I've watched it since I was a kid.
The most romantic thing Scott has ever done for me is he had our wedding centerpieces recreated for our first anniversary. It was like recapturing a moment in time.
Aaron saying the phrase "my butt stinks". I wish I could have heard it, Scott said it was hilarious.
Jill's attempt at break dancing. If you have ever seen the Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr, they have a kid that break dances during the last song, Jill attempts to copy him every time.
Family that I can call for any reason at any time.
Surviving 10 minutes of storytime and not being banned from the library.
All the rain we've had in the afternoon, it knocks one "to-do" off my list every night (watering the garden).
The abundance of Roma tomatoes and green peppers we have, it's nice to knock that off my grocery list every week.
My helper Aaron that helps pick up the playroom with me at the end of the night. I think, maybe, he does a better job than I do.
This video, it makes me smile every time I watch it:
Elizabeth Lyons introducing me to that video that makes me smile every time I watch it. (It also inspired me to create my own "inspirational/really awesome" video page on here, check it out!)
Having only one post at Multiples and More this week, it's been strange, but has helped me get ahead on other areas. Thanks Lani!
25 cent Crayola crayons at Walmart, you my friends are awesome (the crayons, not Walmart).
What are you thankful for this week? Link up and let me know!
I very seldom do these questions, but Lani had a great one this week (and I always feel weird answering my own questions). There are multiple questions, so hang on!
What is your schedule like? Do you work outside the home or stay home with the kids?
I stay home with the kids and have since before they were born (long story). Here's what a typical, non-outing day is like:
6:15-6:30am: Jill usually comes in to wake me up, and when I say wake me up I mean scare the every living out of me. If it's just her (or if it's just Aaron) I let her lay in bed with me for about 15 minutes and then we go to the playroom.
6:30-7: The kids watch Ni-Hao Kai Lan while I make them breakfast, empty/reload dishwasher and make my coffee and breakfast.
7-11: There really isn't a set schedule here. The kids eat breakfast, I drink my coffee/eat breakfast and check emails. When they are done eating we either color, build with blocks, read, play games, whatever the kids feel like doing really. We got these really great books from Southwestern that break down colors, shapes and words for them and we usually spend a good 30 minutes-hour looking at those. The books also came with posters that we have on the walls that we go over as well. I have to mention that during all of this time I'm usually doing a few loads of laundry, vacuuming, sweeping or doing some form of cleaning as well.
11-12: The kids have lunch and start settling down for lunch. Before they eat I usually put in a DVD for them so I can make their lunch. After they eat I get them dressed (yes, we wear pjs until almost noon over here) and settled in for naps. They get 1-2 stories at naptime.
12-3: This is "me" time. This is when I workout, shower, eat lunch and relax. I also do a lot of my writing during this time, while simultaneously catching up on Real Housewives or General Hospital. If I'm super motivated I'll do some cooking in the kitchen (pre-make lunches, bake or make homemade granola).
3-4: The kids usually wake up around 3ish, some days earlier, just depends. After they wake up they get a snack and some water or juice. Since it's been so hot, we usually go hang out in the pool, if it's raining though we do an arts and crafts project of some kind or work on signing with the Signing Time DVDs.
4-8: We hang out with Scott, have dinner (5-5:30ish) and wear these little kiddies out. Depending on the day we may go out at this point, or take the kids swimming by Mimi and Paw Paw's. This can also be the time I go grocery shopping.
7pm: The kids get baths and put in their jammies. Bath time is pretty fun nowadays. The kids pretend to be fish and swim in the tub.
7:30-8pm: The kids watch Diego and start settling down. If they really didn't eat much of their dinner I let them have a snack.
8pm: The kids get settled into bed and get 2-4 stories (depending on length of the story). Our current favorites included: I saw it all on Mulberry Street, The Very Hungry Catepillar, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus (thanks to the Pierces!), Fancy Nancy or Knuffle Bunny (so cute!).
8pm-10/11pm: Scott and I have dinner and relax. Before we go to bed we pick up the playroom, run the dishwasher and Scott makes my coffee for the next day (isn't he the best???).
Do you follow it very closely?
For the most part I try to. I like to keep meals and naptime at the same time everyday. Granted, if we are out and about, that will change it, but I like for that to be a constant.
How much (or how little?) "help" do you have?
It's Scott and I, and really with Scott it's after he gets home or if he's off. We also have help from Mimi and Paw Paw, and my friend Jenn, if we need to go out without the kids. But a normal day, it's just me.
What chores do you do on a daily basis?
I usually do 1-2 loads of laundry a day, some days more (depends on my motivation, lol), sweep the kitchen, dishwasher (obviously) and vacuum if I remember.
Do you get any "me" time on an average day? What do you do then?
I make it a priority to have "me" time everyday. I think it's the only way you can keep from going totally crazy. Even if it's just me having a hot cup of tea in the afternoon, it's "me" time.
What is your favorite part of each day?
I love the one on one time I get with the kids, whether it's the snuggle time first thing in the morning, or the time alone when one is still napping and the other is up. It's great to just have those moments with them, alone, where they are not fighting for the attention.
What is your least favorite part of each day?
Depends on the day, lol. I'm not a fan of cleaning up the playroom. The entire time I'm doing it I just think, "it's going to look like this again in 15 minutes, why bother?". But I know it needs to get done.
Are you able to make time for all the things that you want/need to fit in? If you could fit it all in, what else would you do?
I try to get everything done when it needs to get done, but if it doesn't I don't stress out about it. I mean really, is it that big of a deal if my kitchen floor didn't get swept up today? No, in the grand scheme of things it's not that big of a deal. I'd rather have that time with the kids.
Not going to lie, yesterday was a weird day. The kids slept until almost 4 in the afternoon. Why don't they do that when I want them to?
The Blogiversary party finally wrapped up yesterday too. I cannot thank everyone enough for being a part of the week long celebration and for being a part of our community. I don't think Lani or I thought we would be where we are today a year ago. I remember how excited we got when we hit 100 followers, now we have well over 1,000! I can only hope this next year brings as much success as the first!
Other than that not much else is knew over here. We're trying to get ready for our weekend away. Scott and I are going to Tallahassee this weekend for a wedding. It'll be our first full weekend away from the kids. I cannot wait to get away! It's going to be a much needed break :)
A great partner, Lani, who without her this past year would not have been possible!
Lake Sumter Station 33, squad A (I believe? not that I'm a stalker). Saw them at dinner last night and could not be more thankful of everything they did for my kids back in November. Plus, they're easy (read very easy) on the eyes, so it made my meal just as nice.
My neighbors who have painted our house for dirt cheap! It looks awesome!
Melissa d'Arabian saying that she loved me, mainly because I actually read the press release.
Toddler beds are clearly the latest trend! To be honest I had zero desire to make the transition, but Jill got herself out of the crib, and well she's not graceful and the fear of broken bones set in. I mean, we did just pay off the November medical bills, but I don't want to build it back up. Scott and I looked at crib tents, but didn't see spending $140 on a set. In the end we decided to just bite the bullet and put them in their toddler beds. The first night went surprisingly well. It only took an hour for them to fall asleep and they only had to be placed back in bed 4 times. When all was quite on the western front we checked in and there they were, snug as two bugs in their beds. YAHOO! Let's hope the next few nights will be as easy :)
Between having the house painted and the rain we've been going a little stir crazy. I think my one eye has even started to twitch, seriously. Thankfully the weather is nice again and the painting is almost done! Watch out world, we will be on the loose again!
The kids are definitely keeping me on my toes. I don't know if you know this, but my darling artist, Jill, has decided to start drawing murals. Yup....murals. Thankfully her wall murals are in chalk and are easy to remove. She also loves to "read" stories to all of us, including her stuffed animals. The other day she had the bird from Up and Stitch all tucked in with blankets, read them a story and then politely told me "Shh! Nigh-Nighes!". I had no idea I had the power to wake up stuffed animals.
Aaron is proving to be all boy and more and more like his father. He has the Southern charm for sure. Whenever he does something he's not supposed to be doing he flashes that smile and I'll be honest, it's hard not to laugh and smile back. Works for Scott too....
So my cousin Debbie doesn't "whomp me upside the head" here's this weeks Mommy and Me!
The weather was awesome this week and the kids and I got to spend a ton of time outdoors. Thankfully the wasps have stayed in their section of the yard and the red ants have not been bothersome yet. Ah the joys of Florida, right?
Wednesday we went to EPCOT with the Lyons crew (party of 10 please!) to check out the Flower and Garden Festival and research for the next Multiples and More post. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day, the weather was just gorgeous!
Our first stop was Finding Nemo because someone (*ahem* Lani *ahem*) was really excited about it and just couldn't wait to go on it. We also went into Turtle Talk with Crush while we were in The Seas. I think my kiddos will like it a lot more when they are older and can be a more active participant.
After lunch we went on Journey into Imagination and the kids got to run around on the music mat that they have near the exit. I think they ran around in there for like 30 minutes, at least. I can't wait to take them back to run around in there again before it really starts to get crowded.
After all the running around at Journey into Imagination we were able to walk around World Showcase and check out the Flower and Garden Festival. I love this time of year. There are so many great ideas, tips, and tricks that you can find at Flower and Garden. Now, I don't have a green thumb by any means, but I love to look at everything and make mental notes for the day that I can hire someone to maintain something like that for me. Scott and I are thinking of starting a vegetable garden this year, so it was neat to check everything out. The kids slept pretty much the whole time, which was fine by me :)
After the kids woke up we were all able to play in one of the many playgrounds they have set up for Flower and Garden. The one that we went to was set up in the fairy section and was hands down the coolest playground I have ever seen. All 5 kiddos had a blast and definitely wore the 5 of us adults out. The big kids got to go on a ride too, we all took turns riding Test Track, and thankfully the ride did not break down while Lani, Ploy and I were on it. Maybe this only happens on Space Mountain?
Everyone was pooped after Test Track so we all headed home and we got to meet up with my nephew Alex who was in town for Spring Break. The kids weren't too sure at first, but Aaron quickly sat down next to Alex and Jill brought him pretty much every toy in the playroom. It was great getting a chance to see him!
I finally let the kids try out their finger paints yesterday. I'm not a big "hey let's make a mess!" kind of a person and could instantly see my angels taking off down the hallway with their paint covered hands touching the ivory walls. *shudder* They did really well though and there was minimal paint in places that it shouldn't be, like their bedroom door, thankfully though the paint is really washable. Jill was really into it and didn't want to stop, Aaron could care less. He's kind of like me and not a big fan of squishy stuff in his hands, or messes.
Looks like they had fun, huh? I think they had more fun in the tub afterward. They thought it was cool that the water changed colors and that they could paint the walls of the tub (and possibly the toilet seat).
We're getting ready for our staycation this week. I cannot wait! We're just going to Disney, but actually staying at one of their hotels which is a nice change! Speaking of Disney, did you see the "How to do Magic Kingdom with Multiples" post on Multiples and More? You should check it out! Hope you're having a great start to your week!
We went with the whole Lyons crew today (yup that would make us a party of 10) to Magic Kingdom to do some research for our post on how to take multiples to Disney. And let me just start by saying I think they knew this because the craziest things happened to us.
Let's start with our arrival, shall we? We got there, hopped on the monorail (or as Miss Lily calls it, the rail rail) and headed to the Kingdom. As we go to get into the park Scott realizes that he has his 2009 Maingate, not 2010, so he had to go to guest relations to print out some of his comp tickets.
After we all got in we headed straight for Fantasyland to hit up all the rides and have some lunch. We pretty much took up an entire side of the room for lunch. After lunch we went to Tomorrowland and took turns going on Space Mountain. Ploy went first, then the guys and then Lani and myself. Here's where it gets fun, stay with me. We fly through the line because of the magic of the rider switch pass, get on the ride, go flying through (it was awesome) get to the end and then....the ride stops. I kid you not, it just stops and they start playing this announcement that you need to stay seated until a host or hostess can assist you. Say what? Then the lights turned on and there we were sitting literally 15 feet from the exit stuck on a rocketship. We thought this was pretty funny, but then it got better, and made Lani wish she had gone to the bathroom before we went on the ride. The host and hostesses come to get us off the ride, but there's a problem, Lani is over the stairs, not the platform, and I'm right on the edge of the platform and stairs. Because of this they have to call....wait for it....the fire department to get the two of us off the ride. I AM SO SERIOUS! By this point we have tears pouring down our face from laughing and Lani is trying to convince the cast members that she is Spiderwoman and can totally scale this ride and promises not to tell, just don't call the fire department. They said no, we had to be taken out by the firemen. Because of how we're sitting the other people in our car had to wait until we could get off the ride. So then we are thinking gosh it would be nice if we got Reedy Creeks finest (if you know what I mean), instead we got their umm...most seasoned. It was hard to get off the ride because of the laughing, but it went something like this: Ma'am go ahead and sit your butt here, swing your legs over and we'll help you down. Sigh...'twas hilarious. We then received an ovation upon our exit since we were the last ones evacuated. We laughed all the way to the rest of the group and pretty much the rest of the night, and even now.
After our touch and go experience on Space Mountain we watched the parade and headed out for some more rides. We took the kids on the train, and I think it was my kiddos first time, they all loved it! Plus all the kids were giving each other high fives and "huggies".
For our last stop we went to see the Princesses back in Toon Town and only waited like 10 minutes, which is unheard of. My kiddos decided to be super shy, but Lani's seemed to really warm up to them, especially Belle who had a lot of spunk.
It was a great day and I cannot wait to share the post with everyone on Multiples and More this Saturday! Hope you had a great day too!
