For those of you that don't know what Thanksgiving Thursday is, it is the one time during the week where you stop and basically count your blessings. Even if you've had one of those weeks, I promise you can find at least one thing to be thankful for, no matter how big or small.
This week I am thankful for:
Scott and his support. I cannot believe we will be coming up on 5 years of marriage. I'm not going to lie, it hasn't been the easiest 5 years, but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love you!
Aaron and his latest train obsession. I mean he's always been interested, but it is now a full on obsession and it's quite possibly the cutest thing in the world!
Jill and the expression on her face when she opened her Tangled DVD. Totally worth every penny!
Family that is supportive no matter what!
An amazing 2 years with Multiples and More! I cannot believe it's already been 2 years! Thank you to everyone who has helped make it what it is today!
The amazing opportunity I received from Elizabeth and Erin at How to Raise Twins. Read all about it HERE
It's been a crazy week over here, or at least it seems that way. The first couple of days were strictly for recovery and really weren't as bad as I thought they would have been. I actually got to see video of myself crossing the finish line and all I can say is I really need to work on my form. I think I run slightly similar to Phoebe from friends. I mean not with the hands all over the place, but yeah, it's not pretty.
Wednesday we went to Epcot to check out the Flower and Garden show. We even had a chance to go into The Seas to see the fish.
When we went back into the countries the kids were excited about all the plants that were made to look like Disney characters. Jill about lost her mind when we got to Germany and she saw this:
Now yes, this is awesome but when you are flying solo with one kid that wants to sit and stare at the tower that also sings and has glowing hair (yeah thanks Disney) and one kid that wants to stare at the trains. These two things are feet from each other and you can see the tower from the train, but miss insisted on being in front of the tower. It was a short visit to Germany needless to say.
Yesterday I braved Publix solo with the kids. I never know about grocery shopping with them because the likelihood of getting a double cart is slim. Thankfully there was one left and believe you me it got a full wipe down since I just saw an article about how 72% of carts came back positive for fecal matter. *Vomit* The kids did really well in the store and actually picked out all of our produce. They really love the produce section, I'm pretty lucky. Aaron's only request was that we get watermelon and Jill wanted apples. If she had her way she would have eaten the apple in the store right then and there.
Around the time we got home Jill really started complaining about her ear so Scott took her to the pediatrician to have her checked out and yup, she has another ear infection. The doctor said some kids are just more likely to get them and at their age their ear canals aren't big enough to flush everything out fast enough and that's why it happens. So now we're on antibiotics for another 10 days, I'm just really lucky she is good about taking medicine.
While Scott and Jill were at the pediatrician I got to have some quality time with my Aaron man. We hung out in the backyard and spent most of the time sneezing because of the orange blossoms. He's such a riot though and such a toddler. We were "racing" each other from one side of the yard to the other and he would stop halfway because he was distracted by a flower or an acorn. Too cute!
Hope all is well with you and that you have a fantastic weekend! If you have a chance, please check out Scott's St. Baldrick's page.
We've had a pretty chillaxin' weekend so far, and I really like it that way. Scott had to work New Year's Eve at Magic Kingdom, God love him. You couldn't pay me to go near that place. Thankfully though, he was home before midnight, not that either of us made it to midnight, does that make us old?
During the day the kids and I hung out outside because the weather has finally warmed up. Everything is dead though because of the freezes from the past couple of nights. The kids had fun though, they always do, and I was happy because they finally got to burn off all of that energy.
Don't you love those faces???? Lately their imaginations are just blowing up, which I am loving. The activity climber that they have is now a pirate ship and Jill will climb in and yell "Arghhh!!!" and pretend to steer the ship. I mean how adorable is that?
They've also been reenacting movies lately. Jill takes all the characters from Tangled and acts it out. While she loves Rapunzel, Flynn and Max, she definitely has a soft spot for the thugs in the movie. They've all gone to bed with her every night since she saw the movie. Aaron is into reenacting Toy Story 3, especially the opening scene, he pretends to be Buzz during that part. He's also signing like a fool. Even though they are speaking a lot more and a lot clearer, the signing definitely helps and I hope it is something that they continue.
Yesterday we went to Mimi and Paw Paw's for New Year's Day lunch. Mimi always makes black eyed peas, rice with gravy, salmon croquettes (grilled chicken for me), and sweet potatoes. Aaron had two croquettes and I don't even know how many sweet potatoes, Jill had kolacky haha. The rest of the day was just really relaxing, which is a welcomed change to the past few weeks.
We took the kiddos to see their first movie at the theater yesterday! We all went (me, my parents, Scott and the kids) to see Tangled. Scott and I had already seen the movie and were excited to take the kids.
The hardest part of this was waiting before the movie started, and is it me or are there more previews now? Even after awhile Jill looked at me and asked "Where's the princess?". Amen sister, amen.
The kids did really, especially since the movie is over 90 minutes. Aaron got restless after awhile, but it was also during naptime. Jill sat on the edge of her seat the entire time. Even Dzia Dzio liked the movie!
I can't wait to do this again with the kids, there's a ton of cute movies coming out for them to see! Like a new Cars movie, Gnomeo and Juliet, and Winnie the Pooh! Hope you had a great weekend too!
