Thanksgiving Thursday

This week I am thankful for:
  • Scott and everything that he does, especially when he plays catch with Aaron.

  • Aaron saying the phrase "my butt stinks". I wish I could have heard it, Scott said it was hilarious.
  • Jill's attempt at break dancing. If you have ever seen the Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr, they have a kid that break dances during the last song, Jill attempts to copy him every time.
  • Family that I can call for any reason at any time.
  • Surviving 10 minutes of storytime and not being banned from the library.
  • All the rain we've had in the afternoon, it knocks one "to-do" off my list every night (watering the garden).
  • The abundance of Roma tomatoes and green peppers we have, it's nice to knock that off my grocery list every week.
  • My helper Aaron that helps pick up the playroom with me at the end of the night. I think, maybe, he does a better job than I do.
  • This video, it makes me smile every time I watch it:

  • Elizabeth Lyons introducing me to that video that makes me smile every time I watch it. (It also inspired me to create my own "inspirational/really awesome" video page on here, check it out!)
  • Having only one post at Multiples and More this week, it's been strange, but has helped me get ahead on other areas. Thanks Lani!
  • 25 cent Crayola crayons at Walmart, you my friends are awesome (the crayons, not Walmart).
What are you thankful for this week? Link up and let me know!

Death of a Blackberry

Yes, it's true, my Blackberry has gone on to cellphone heaven (maybe hell?). The cause of death is pretty gruesome, if you are squeamish please stop reading.

We went to Walmart last night to pick up the kids present from my sister (which by the way was in a box bigger than my car, but I digress) and while I was back in the site to store area I went to text Scott to tell him the box was on its way to the front when Jill grabbed the phone from my hands and slammed it into the crappy tile. Pieces flew everywhere (Ok the backing and battery went all over). I figured, hey this happens all the time, it's ok, right? No....the phone wouldn't turn back on, just the little red light in the corner blinked, and only for a moment. It's like it was trying to say goodbye.

When we got home (after a pretty bad Walmart experience, trust me that post is coming later) I plugged the phone in thinking maybe the battery was dead. After a couple of hours I checked in and it was still unresponsive. Scott called AT&T this morning and they said that maybe it would work if the battery was replaced so we are going to try that, but as of the moment my phone has passed on. You were a good phone BB, we've been through some crazy times (remember the Spaceship Earth debacle?). You will be missed, that is until they override my upgrade so I get can my iPhone early. Rest in peace BB.

Did you want the large?

So big news! Scott had an interview this morning at Disney and officially will be going back to work at the end of the month (cue the choirs of angels)! YAHOO!!!

Ummm now that I've stopped doing the happy dance.... We made ribs last night and they were AWESOME! Scott made up a rub and let them sit with the rub for a few hours before we cooked them in the oven. When they were fork tender (exact words my mother used when describing how to cook these) we put them on the grill with some BBQ sauce. They were amazing and the leftovers were even better today!

Other than the big interview today we had a pretty chill day. Scott and the kids vegged out while I went to Walmart. Oh the joys of Walmart. The one by our house is pretty much a tourist wonderland. I hate it, like truly hate it with the passion of a thousand warriors. When you walk in the door the aisle is lined with Disney-esque t-shirts that every tourist must stop and look at, and then proceed to scream across the store at the rest of their family something that sounds like "Hey you! What size do you want? What? HUH? Large?! WHAT?!" He said large lady give him the large and then get the heck out of my way! And forget it if you need sunblock, seriously. I do however find it humorous because 90% of the people in that aisle will buy the sunblock and only apply it once and have to return to buy aloe because they were not smart enough to buy it the first time. Sigh...tourists...

I tried to make the kiddos another super yummy dinner tonight, but apparently I offended my daughter by offering her chicken. She is now in her fruitarian phase again and refuses to eat pretty much anything other than fruit. Aaron at least humors me and eats whatever I put in front of him. The joys of having toddlers.

Be sure to check out the Multiples blog tomorrow, I'm reviewing Nicole O'Dell's new books which were AMAZING! If you have a "tween" girl you should check it out! Hope you had a great day!

What chapter would I find that in?

We had another really chill day today. Scott was gone for most of the morning/early afternoon so it was nice (no offense) to have some time alone with the kiddos. I miss our routine and alone time (again, no offense Scott). So where was Scott you ask? Well he had to take the Criminal Justice Basic Abilities test today because he is in the running for a sponsorship with Orange County. This is something he has always wanted to do, but never pursued because he didn't want to take the pay cut. Now is the perfect time for him to follow through on his dream, and I couldn't be prouder of him (is it prouder or more proud?). He passed the test with a 96%, which in case it wasn't obvious, is an amazing score! He is actually being processed rather quickly, which is exciting. He also has an interview on Monday, so fingers/toes/eyes/any other appendage crossed!

After Scott got home we needed to do a quick Walmart run and the kiddos got a new DVD, The Wiggles Go Bananas. What's great about this DVD is that a portion of the proceeds go to UNICEF. And as an added bonus Kylie Minogue makes a special appearance as the Pink Wiggle.

So then, my graceful daughter, hit her head on God only knows what and has a giant...excuse me...GINORMOUS bump/knot on her head. I'm hoping it goes down quickly because it is smack dab in the middle of her forehead. She also started grinding her teeth today. Seriously that is nails on a chalkboard for me, I wanted to lose my mind! UHHH! Hopefully that doesn't continue.

Aaron was super whiny today. I think he's getting his remaining three molars, plus a couple more teeth all at once. This would explain the river of drool on his shirt and sheets. Oh his sheets are gross, I almost have to change them daily because of the drool, it is disgusting. I don't remember reading that chapter in What to Expect, I'm just saying.

So that's about it over here. Hope you had a great Wednesday!

Thanksgiving Thursday

>>

Another week has literally flown by. So this week I am thankful for...

  • Yup, you guessed it, the coffee pot. I figure this week will be the last I will be thankful for it, while it is awesome, the point has been made I think.
  • My husband's desk building skills. He had my new desk out of the box and constructed within 2 hours, and that included a break to feed the kids dinner! It's not often that I compliment his speedy construction skills :)
  • My annual pass to Disney. I love being able to just call Lani and say "Hey I gotta get out of the house want to meet at EPCOT?" and just go for maybe 2 hours. It's awesome.
  • All the positive response Lani and I are getting for the top secret project. As a side note if you have an etsy shop and would be willing to donate items to a giveaway please let us know!
  • The awesomeness that is Target. They always manage to have shelves stocked and team members close by in case said item is not on the shelf. The same cannot be said for Walmart, at least the one by my house anyway.
  • My daughter eating her bottle by herself. It gives me a few minutes of alone time with Aaron, which hardly ever happens since he tends to nap longer than Jill. I do wish Aaron would eat his bottle by himself, but I like the time we get to spend together.
  • Bravo TV creating yet another trashy show for me to watch. Apparently they are starting a Real Housewives of New Jersey, for real! I wonder what fruit they will be holding in the opening credits?
  • April organizing all the play dates for our kindergarten class with GOMOTT. She spreads them out so it's fair to everyone, plus she totally scopes the places out so they don't suck! Tomorrow's is at a park that's on Triplet Lake Lane, seriously, how funny?
Play along with Nicole at What a trip!

Sunday Recap

Ah happy Monday morning everyone! It is super foggy over here. Do you remember when you were little and you would watch cartoons and if it was foggy in the cartoon the character would use a sword and cut through the fog? Yeah I totally wish I could do that, it's pretty nasty out. Anyway, yesterday was pretty cool. Scott has completed another step in RCIA (Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults in case you were wondering) and I've never been prouder! We're only a few weeks away from Easter when he makes all his sacraments which is really really exciting! Yesterday afternoon we ran over to Walmart and got me a smaller desk so that way the kids have a bigger play area. We also got the kids two of those medium size plastic balls. I wish I had my camera because Scott brought Jill around the corner and she had her princess ball in her hand and was just beaming! It was almost like she was thinking "Oh my goodness look at this! It has princesses!" I'm glad $3 toys make their day, I wonder how long that will last? Aaron pouted pretty much the whole time we were there, he HATES Walmart, no clue why, just does not like it. Maybe he's just a typical guy and doesn't like to shop? Here's a photo of them playing "nice" yesterday...
Then last night after the kids went down and we (and when I say we I mean Scott) were putting the old desk in the garage we (and this time I mean we) saw the shuttle launch. Well, Scott saw it, and I saw the trail it left, I still haven't seen one. We always forget when they're going up, and coming back for that matter. I remember my first time when a shuttle returned, I about jumped out of my skin! I was sitting on the couch, watching it mind you, and I heard this 'BANG!" I thought there was a drive by or something. I called Scott and was like "Oh my God I think somebody shot someone out here!" and he was like "No, Amanda that was the shuttle landing, it's called the sonic boom, helllllllooooooooooo". It was pretty funny, and he reminds me of it everytime there is one. Here are a couple of photos Scott took last night of the trail...So then, Scott and I are in bed, getting ready to fall asleep and talking about our day, and we were talking about the songs we can't stand on the kids favorite nursery rhyme DVD and he started talking about the Apples and Bananas song. I was like what about it? And he was like (oh my gosh this is hard to type, I'm still laughing) "I hate when they switch to those foreign languages, I mean what is that?" Oh my gosh it's still as funny as it was last night, give me a minute...woooooo....So I was like "Um no, it's teaching them their vowels. A-A-A Apples and Bananas E-E-E Epples and Benenes etc." and you could literally see the light bulb click on. Oh I love my husband, but that was HILARIOUS! Can you tell we're still sleep deprived from daylight savings?
Ok, let me wipe that tear from laughing so I can continue....so as recommended by Lani, I bought the kids Signing time and they like it, a lot. Scott loves it too, he took sign language as his foreign language in college, and actually lined danced with a deaf couple, so he was really good at it. I think he's more excited about it than the kids. He's also convinced that Jill was signing dog yesterday. Maybe, who knows. The only negative I have with it is that the theme song is permanently embedded in my head, but that's not entirely bad I guess.
No big plans today, I always say that don't I but then end up doing something that would qualify as a big plan, oh well. Hope you have a great day!
