But it was 3 in the afternoon!

We went to the park yesterday, the weather was amazing! It would have been foolish not to go in all honesty.

The kids love this park and can seriously burn off some energy while we are there. And boy did they burn off some energy! Even Scott and I burned off some energy....

Yes, I am married to him....

But while we were there I noticed something, I was one of the only moms that was actually dressed in something other than pajamas, not even sweats, pajamas. I would like to point out that it was 3 in the afternoon. I was amazed by this, I mean yes, we all have our PJ days, but doesn't that mean you plan on staying home all day? Thoughts?

Thanksgiving Thursday

For those of you that don't know what Thanksgiving Thursday is, it is the one time during the week where you stop and basically count your blessings. Even if you've had one of those weeks, I promise you can find at least one thing to be thankful for, no matter how big or small.

This week I am thankful for:
  • Scott giving me 2 hours to do nothing yesterday. He even took the kids to Mimi and Paw Paw's so I could have the house to myself (I was climbing the walls after 30 minutes).
  • Aaron's ever expanding vocabulary, which now includes "My turn! My turn!", even if it's not his turn his turn.
  • Jill's creative/artistic side, which includes acting out scenes from movies, coloring and yelling the word "arabesque" while doing one.
  • The way my parents tell a story, I only hope I can make my kids laugh as hard as they do.
  • Mimi and Paw Paw having us for dinner on Labor Day and making the kiddos favorite cookies (ginger molasses).
  • Finishing my first class, I got a B, I'm not thrilled I got a B though. Should have been an A.
  • My friend Jenn's son B, he is so good with our kids and they love him. Some day in the very very very far future he will make an awesome dad. Did I mention in the very very very very far future?
  • An awesome librarian in the kids department. She's so sweet, the kids love her and always say hi. She even came out from the back office yesterday to say hi to them.
  • Florida State and Notre Dame winning their first games of the season, let's keep it that way guys.
  • All the amazing sponsors we have gotten for the End of Summer Blog Party, we're around 25 prizes which is awesome (and they're really great prizes, one even made Lani and I say "Oh my God!").

Mommy and Me Monday

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?
Hosted by Krystyn at Really, Are You Serious?

I promise, I am still here, it was just a busy busy busy weekend. Most of it including writing a never ending 8 page paper that is worth 25% of my final grade. Here's hoping I did well on it!

After I finished my paper we decided to head over to Epcot and meet up with our friend Jenn and her boys. I was actually surprised that it wasn't super crowded. We got to listen to a storyteller in Japan, which Jill loved:

After that we pretty much just walked and talked. Naturally we had to stop and look at the trains in Germany, otherwise I would lose my mother of the year title. We also did the boat ride in Mexico which is a favorite with my kids (they love Donald). The rain clouds quickly came in after that ride so we decided to high tail it out of there, but not before we got the quintessential tourist photo:

Be sure to play along with Krystyn at Really, Are You Serious?

If you're visiting from Really, Are You Serious be sure to stop by on Thursday and share what you're thankful for in my Thanksgiving Thursday post!

You mean it's not 100 degrees outside?!

The weather is actually pretty nice out right now, low 90s mild humidity, so we've been able to spend more than 15 minutes outside at a time.

While in the backyard the other night Aaron spent some quality time with his favorite part of the backyard, the pepper plant (or as he says the pep-parrrrrrrrrrrrrr).

I have no idea why we have toys in the backyard, clearly all we need is a pep-parrrrrrrrrrr plant and the kid will be happy.

Jill on the other hand could live in her swing. She'll get out for about 5 minutes to play with the ball or go down the slide but then she's right back in the swing.

I'm really hoping the weather stays like this, I'm so over the heat it's not even funny. I firmly believe this year has been the hottest summer, then again I say that every year at this time.

  • Scott. He truly is an amazing man and I am very lucky to have him in my life.
  • Two great kids who, even though they make me crazy some days, can always make up for it with a hug and kiss. It doesn't hurt when they add an "I love you".
  • Our parents, they're just awesome.
  • Cathy (or Tay Tay as Jill calls her or Da Bees as Aaron calls her) who can make the kids day with a container of Nutter Butters, Disney CD's and a sippy cup and who can make my day with a bunch of books. All of that excuses slipping Big Rock Candy Mountain onto the one CD.
  • Cooler weather. It's in the lower 90s and the humidity isn't as bad.
  • Almost being done with my first class! Cannot wait to turn in that final paper and be done with it!
  • Very generous sponsors for the End of Summer Blog Party at Multiples and More. It's going to be bigger and better than last year!
  • Great friends that you can talk about anything with!
Go ahead and link up what your thankful for!

Thanksgiving Thursday

This week I am thankful for:
  • Scott and everything that he does, especially when he plays catch with Aaron.

  • Aaron saying the phrase "my butt stinks". I wish I could have heard it, Scott said it was hilarious.
  • Jill's attempt at break dancing. If you have ever seen the Fresh Beat Band on Nick Jr, they have a kid that break dances during the last song, Jill attempts to copy him every time.
  • Family that I can call for any reason at any time.
  • Surviving 10 minutes of storytime and not being banned from the library.
  • All the rain we've had in the afternoon, it knocks one "to-do" off my list every night (watering the garden).
  • The abundance of Roma tomatoes and green peppers we have, it's nice to knock that off my grocery list every week.
  • My helper Aaron that helps pick up the playroom with me at the end of the night. I think, maybe, he does a better job than I do.
  • This video, it makes me smile every time I watch it:

  • Elizabeth Lyons introducing me to that video that makes me smile every time I watch it. (It also inspired me to create my own "inspirational/really awesome" video page on here, check it out!)
  • Having only one post at Multiples and More this week, it's been strange, but has helped me get ahead on other areas. Thanks Lani!
  • 25 cent Crayola crayons at Walmart, you my friends are awesome (the crayons, not Walmart).
What are you thankful for this week? Link up and let me know!

Way back When-esday

Dateline: July 2009
Age: 14 months

This was taken at one of our favorite parks. They have a boardwalk that takes you back to the lake, that day we were lucky enough to see some boats on the lake. I remember how long it took to walk all the way back there, I have a feeling if we went today it would take a lot less time!

Play along with Cheryl at Twinfatuation!
