Thanksgiving Thursday

For those of you that don't know what Thanksgiving Thursday is, it is the one time during the week where you stop and basically count your blessings. Even if you've had one of those weeks, I promise you can find at least one thing to be thankful for, no matter how big or small.

This week I am thankful for:

• Scott, he truly is my best friend and someone that I can tell anything to. Have I mentioned he makes a mean pot of coffee?

• The kids not getting diarrhea from the Desitin experience. I can handle many things in life, diarrhea is not one of them.

• All the comments yesterday letting me know what they called Poison Control for. Glad we all have that in common too :)

• Aaron's quick responses. I asked him the other day where our dog was, he told me the moon. No hesitation.

• Jill's modesty, or lack there of. She got a new Tinker Bell nightgown and likes to remind us that it makes her look pretty. Can you say "diva?"

• Great parents who near or far can help you out with anything.

• A brave brother who took my kiddos to the playground at the Boardwalk yesterday, that's right by the pool. I'm impressed he lasted as long as he did before taking them back to the room, and that he was not injured in the process (whether mental or physical).

• All of our sponsors for the End of Summer Blog Party that starts today! We have 26 amazing sponsors!

Thanksgiving Thursday

For those of you that don't know what Thanksgiving Thursday is, it is the one time during the week where you stop and basically count your blessings. Even if you've had one of those weeks, I promise you can find at least one thing to be thankful for, no matter how big or small.

This week I am thankful for:

• Scott giving me 2 hours to do nothing yesterday. He even took the kids to Mimi and Paw Paw's so I could have the house to myself (I was climbing the walls after 30 minutes).

• Aaron's ever expanding vocabulary, which now includes "My turn! My turn!", even if it's not his turn his turn.

• Jill's creative/artistic side, which includes acting out scenes from movies, coloring and yelling the word "arabesque" while doing one.
  

• The way my parents tell a story, I only hope I can make my kids laugh as hard as they do.

• Mimi and Paw Paw having us for dinner on Labor Day and making the kiddos favorite cookies (ginger molasses).

• Finishing my first class, I got a B, I'm not thrilled I got a B though. Should have been an A.

• My friend Jenn's son B, he is so good with our kids and they love him. Some day in the very very very far future he will make an awesome dad. Did I mention in the very very very very far future?

• An awesome librarian in the kids department. She's so sweet, the kids love her and always say hi. She even came out from the back office yesterday to say hi to them.

• Florida State and Notre Dame winning their first games of the season, let's keep it that way guys.

• All the sweet comments from my feature day.
  

• All the amazing sponsors we have gotten for the End of Summer Blog Party, we're around 25 prizes which is awesome (and they're really great prizes, one even made Lani and I say "Oh my God!").

It's all fun and games...

...until Jill runs into the wall at full speed...


Seriously it was like 10 minutes to bed time and little miss took off down the magical back hallway and WHAM! Then came the screams. At first Scott and I thought she just hit the wall, no big deal, she hits her head all the time right? Then I hear "Ummm can I have a paper towel?" There was blood all over her mouth and arm. Little miss would not let us wipe the blood off or try and stop it, or even look at it to see if she bit through her lip. Thankfully we still had a cold teether (procrastination pays off people!) for her to put on her lip so we could inspect. Thankfully she didn't bite through and was back to her cheerful self in 2.3 seconds. Phew!

After the kiddos went down Scott and I redid the playroom. Mimi and PawPaw bought the kiddos these really cute toy organizers so I was able to get a lot of stuff put where it should be. I had to take a photo because I know tomorrow morning everything will be all over the house.

Today I am giving away a copy of Deceptively Delicious by Jessica Seinfeld (yep that Seinfeld). This book includes several recipes that show you how to sneak veggies into your kids meals. I was introduced to this book on Tuesday night at my MoM's meeting and some of the MoM's actually made some of the recipes (I didn't eat any, sorry I ate Wendy's right before, healthy I know). I'm ordering myself a copy so I figured why not order an extra for one lucky reader?!
