Mommy and Me Monday

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?
Hosted by Krystyn at Really, Are You Serious?

I promise, I am still here, it was just a busy busy busy weekend. Most of it including writing a never ending 8 page paper that is worth 25% of my final grade. Here's hoping I did well on it!

After I finished my paper we decided to head over to Epcot and meet up with our friend Jenn and her boys. I was actually surprised that it wasn't super crowded. We got to listen to a storyteller in Japan, which Jill loved:

After that we pretty much just walked and talked. Naturally we had to stop and look at the trains in Germany, otherwise I would lose my mother of the year title. We also did the boat ride in Mexico which is a favorite with my kids (they love Donald). The rain clouds quickly came in after that ride so we decided to high tail it out of there, but not before we got the quintessential tourist photo:

Be sure to play along with Krystyn at Really, Are You Serious?

If you're visiting from Really, Are You Serious be sure to stop by on Thursday and share what you're thankful for in my Thanksgiving Thursday post!

You mean it's not 100 degrees outside?!

The weather is actually pretty nice out right now, low 90s mild humidity, so we've been able to spend more than 15 minutes outside at a time.

While in the backyard the other night Aaron spent some quality time with his favorite part of the backyard, the pepper plant (or as he says the pep-parrrrrrrrrrrrrr).

I have no idea why we have toys in the backyard, clearly all we need is a pep-parrrrrrrrrrr plant and the kid will be happy.

Jill on the other hand could live in her swing. She'll get out for about 5 minutes to play with the ball or go down the slide but then she's right back in the swing.

I'm really hoping the weather stays like this, I'm so over the heat it's not even funny. I firmly believe this year has been the hottest summer, then again I say that every year at this time.

Thanksgiving Thursday

For those of you that don't know what Thanksgiving Thursday is, it is the one time during the week where you stop and basically count your blessings. Even if you've had one of those weeks, I promise you can find at least one thing to be thankful for, no matter how big or small.

This week I am thankful for:
  • Scott. He truly is an amazing man and I am very lucky to have him in my life.
  • Two great kids who, even though they make me crazy some days, can always make up for it with a hug and kiss. It doesn't hurt when they add an "I love you".
  • Our parents, they're just awesome.
  • Cathy (or Tay Tay as Jill calls her or Da Bees as Aaron calls her) who can make the kids day with a container of Nutter Butters, Disney CD's and a sippy cup and who can make my day with a bunch of books. All of that excuses slipping Big Rock Candy Mountain onto the one CD.
  • Cooler weather. It's in the lower 90s and the humidity isn't as bad.
  • Almost being done with my first class! Cannot wait to turn in that final paper and be done with it!
  • Very generous sponsors for the End of Summer Blog Party at Multiples and More. It's going to be bigger and better than last year!
  • Great friends that you can talk about anything with!
Go ahead and link up what your thankful for!

Way back When-esday

Dateline: September 2008
Age: Almost 4 months

I mean really, does it get any cuter? I think this was one of my most favorite outfits they had when they were this age, and naturally I think they only wore it once. Normally I am not big on the matchy-matchy outfits, but gosh darn this cute! The fact that Jill is practically leaping out of her Bumbo just makes the photo. I really should have known then what I would be up against now. Ha ha!

Play along with Cheryl at Twinfatuation!

Also, head over to my review blog, I'm hosting a recipe contest with Van's All Natural Foods!

A little catch up...

I did it, I completed something on my 100 things to do before I'm 100 list. I made my own pie crust and it was crazy delicious! It totally took the potato-bacon torte to an entirely different level. It was so buttery and flaky and just melt in your mouth good. I also added some finely grated Gruyere to the top and Scott about lost his mind. It was seriously that good. Back to the list I have to say it was awesome to be able to check something off, only 99 more to go. I have a lot of the things started, and when I say a lot I think it's like 5.

School is going well, I am in my last week of class so things are about to get crazy. I have a paper due on Sunday that is 25% of my grade, no pressure, right? I'm getting a B in the class so far and I would like to keep it that way.

Training for the half marathon is going. I definitely slacked off over the weekend so I just ran a mile and a half yesterday and it felt pretty good. I need to get out and run the subdivision so I can get use to running on the road. I'm planning on doing a 5K in November and then some more in December and January so I can get use to running a race.

Speaking of half marathon's, Lani is running the Disney Half Marathon again this year and is raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society again. She's going to be doing a blog party again with awesome prizes to give away to help raise money. Be sure to check out her blog for more info and her Team in Training Page.
