Big Fat Photo Update

I'm going to warn you now, this is going to be a really long, picture heavy, post. Ok, now that we have that covered....

Tuesday we put up our Christmas tree. The kiddos were very eager to help, naturally. They are doing really well with it so far, and it is still standing, so that is a definite plus.

I also put up their stockings. Last year I was able to use stocking holders and put them on a shelf by the tree, but this year that was not going to happen. Heavy metal, pointy holders and my kids are not a good combination. So I zip tied them to gate, and every time they walk past they give Mickey and Minnie hugs and kisses. I wonder if they think that will bring them more presents?

In my post yesterday I mentioned that Swiffer wet jet can get blue crayon out....see:

Don't you just love Jilly's artwork? Sigh.... She had her back to me coloring (mistake number one) and then just happened to move so I could see and there it was. All I had to say was her name and she dropped the crayon and came running over crying. At least it was the blue crayon and not the red, it probably would have looked like a crime scene.

Wednesday our photos from Impressions in Time came, and they are so great! I picked out a few of my favorites and put them up, and trust me there are way more and it was so hard just to choose these:

Aren't they great?! Thanks again Kim!!!

Yesterday was a pretty good day, we met up with the Lyons at EPCOT. We even got to see the Goodyear Blimp (it was there filming stuff for the Christmas parade, sorry to ruin the magic yet again). This week and next are the best weeks during the holiday season because nobody is here yet. Come Christmas Disney will be hoping until at least the week after New Years.

In totally random news, I broke my pinky toe yesterday. Seriously. I jammed it into the couch and thought that maybe I just well jammed it, but it looks pretty funky this morning and hurts like none other. I'll have to get some tape, and probably some more Motrin, and I should be ok. Who knew you needed your pinky toe so much?

That's it over here, thanks for sticking with me through all the photos!

Zucchini Bread

We had a pretty busy day today! I made some zucchini bread this morning and it is way super delicious!

Here's what you need:
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 beaten egg
1 cup sugar
1 cup finely shredded unpeeled zucchini
1/4 cup cooking oil
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Here's what you do:
Grease a loaf pan and set aside.
In a medium bowl combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, baking powder and nutmeg. Make a well in center of flour mixture and set aside.
In another bowl combine egg, sugar, zucchini and oil. Add all of this to the dry mix and combine. Fold in nuts and spoon into pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 50 minutes.

This bread is so yummy! It was barely cool before Scott was digging in!

This afternoon Scott and I went to get him a tuxedo for his 4th degree with Knights of Columbus. It worked out that we were able to get the tux and shoes for just under $100. How perfect is that?! I also was able to get myself a dress for the event for $40. Gotta love the holiday sales!

The kiddos hung out with Mimi and PawPaw so we could shop and try things on in piece. They even helped cheer PawPaw's team (Ohio State) to a victory! Sadly, even though they were in their Notre Dame gear the team lost :(

Hope you had a great day, and be sure to check out our family photos from Impressions in Time!
