The Story Behind the Photo: Our Rehearsal Dinner

I wanted to share two of my favorite photos from our rehearsal dinner and the story behind them. 

My father hates carrots. Not dislikes...hates. At our rehearsal dinner we served carrots and he specifically asked that he not have carrots. So what did I do? I made sure he had an extra plate full of carrots. The only problem? My wonderful brother Art, who knew about the plan, made sure I had an equally large plate of carrots, my least favorite vegetable. 

This will always be one of my favorite memories from the night.

Way Back When-esday: Wedding Week Edition

Dateline: May 26, 2006

Scott and I are celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary this Sunday, so today's Way Back When-esday kicks off my wedding week tribute if you will.  

This photo was taken at our rehearsal dinner at the Living Seas in EPCOT.  They have a fabulous VIP room that overlooks the aquarium.  

So let me tell you about our rehearsal. Scott was beyond hungover the entire day from his bachelor party. I'm talking he was throwing up as I was driving him to my parents hotel room. That's a phone call every girl wants to make by the way; "Hi Mom, yeah can you bring down your ice bucket filled with water and maybe some paper towels? Why? Oh um....well Scott missed." After a quick nap in my parents room he was ready to roll at the rehearsal. 'Twas classic.

The dinner was fabulous and the cake pictured above was to die for. We served the grooms cake at the rehearsal instead of at the wedding since we figured we'd have plenty of cake to go around at the reception.  The cake was supposed to feature the Florida State Seminole emblem, but our wedding planner, Ken, and I found out that they could make the Disney Security shield and thought that would be a fun surprise. Our wedding planner was so awesome, seriously.

Way back When-esday: Rehearsal Dinner

Where: Disney's Living Seas in EPCOT

This photo is of Scott and I the night before our wedding :) We were married at Disney's Wedding Pavilion on May 27th, 2006 and had our rehearsal at Disney's Boardwalk followed by the dinner at The Living Seas in EPCOT. You know how they say it is good luck to have rain on your wedding day? Well, I don't know what they say about torrential downpours at rehearsal dinners, but it seems to have the same effect! Disney event cast members were trying to keep up dry with ponchos and umbrellas, but let's face it once your hair hits rain/humidity there is no poncho that can save that. The night was really good (kind of seems like yesterday) though and there were plenty of surprises! Scott's grooms cake was changed last minute by me and our wedding planner (he was supposed to have a Seminoles cake but since he worked for Security at the time we had his badge replicated on the cake, it was wonderful!), my Dad got an entire plate of carrots (which he hates), my brother made sure I as well had a full plate of carrots (not a fan) and both of my brothers provided fishing hats and poles for everyone so they could "catch their own dinner". I can't believe it's almost been 3 years, and so much has changed since then (especially our looks, pretend we still look like that!)
