The Mess O'Slightly-to-the-Left O'Potamia

As many of you know, Anderson Cooper was punched while covering the protests is Egypt. If not, here's a quick recap:

It's been a hard week for me (In case you didn't know I'm a big AC fan). I mean, who punches Anderson Cooper aka The Silver Fox? Do they not get CNN there? No AC 360? Why would you repeatedly punch that face? I mean really, have you seen it?

That face is a national treasure. For real, I mean did you see the SNL Digital Short about it?

National treasure! Jimmy Kimmel said it best though, "Let me explain, you foreigners: You do not punch Anderson Cooper – you punch Snooki. That's how we do it here. You keep your dirty hands off our silver fox." Amen Jimmy, amen.

But in all seriousness, it is straight up crazy over there, Katie Couric even was mobbed. Hopefully it all ends soon because seriously, there can be no more damage to this face:

Everything I know I learned from Anderson Cooper...

I have to admit my last few nights I have been glued to CNN's coverage of Haiti, and not because they are the leader in world events, but because they have this man on location:

Hush your mouth Lani, I know what you are thinking! But seriously, don't you think if more reporters looked like him we would be better educated in world events? Just from the past couple nights I could probably tell you every fact about this earthquake chronologically, alphabetically or via flow chart because I have been hanging on every word out of this mouth:

Obsessed? No, concerned citizen of the world. Now do I secretly wish that during this coverage a huge gust of wind would blow by and make his shirt fly up to reveal what I can only imagine to be rock hard abs? Yes, I mean look at those guns!

And don't get all "Oh Amanda you're married! How can you say these things?!" Um hello, look at this man! Seriously, scroll up and look at him! I know Scott thinks the same thing about Megan Fox, why else do you think he watched Transformers? Trust me, not the compelling story line. Did it even have a script?

But seriously if more reporters looked this:

or even this (just for you Scott):

Maybe more people would be informed on what is going on in this world. Just a thought major news stations...just a thought.

Thanksgiving Thursday

>>

This week is just getting crazier and crazier, but here is my list of things to be thankful for this week...

I'm thankful...

1) That we are done eating the jarred meat! Oh my goodness, have you smelled this stuff?! I know why my son gagged the first time, it's gross!

2) That we have a new pastor and that he is settling in well within the parish. And hopefully he had a stuffy nose or something when he met us (read previous blogs to find out why).

3) That everything from today turned out ok and nothing was too serious. I'm not going to go into it, because I don't want anyone to be embarrassed, but I will say, next time you want us to come over just call silly! ;)

4) For Baby Einstein Dvd's. Oh what a welcomed 30 minutes! Especially the Language Nursery and Baby's First Sounds (the kids laugh almost every time something is in French).

5) For farmers markets! We did some quick math and it turns out we save almost half by buying there every Sunday. Plus it is so much better for the environment, and we're helping local growers. And I mean who has better sweet corn than Zellwood and better strawberries than Plant City???

6) For Anderson Cooper's coverage of the Inaugration. I mean, honestly, I was pretty into the whole event, but CNN choosing good old silver fox Cooper was just the icing on the cake!

7) That we now have a new President who is awesome! I won't say anymore, I promised not to.

8) For Nicole starting this whole Thanksgiving Thursday thing, it's awesome and makes you feel awesome after you do it!

I hope you have a lot to be thankful for too! Make sure you visit Nicole over at What a trip to see what she's thankful for!

Obamarama

My Dad has always told me there are three things that you never talk about in public, religion, money and politics. However, I think today we can talk politics, right? I know this blog is mainly about my kids and their daily life, but today it's going to be about the amazing event that occurred at noon. How awesome is it that we live in today's world? Today is a huge testament to how far we as a nation have come, and how great our future will be. If you did not get to watch President Obama's speech, go to CNN and watch it or read the transcript. It was amazing, powerful and just what we need. So here's to four years of change, in a good way, just what we need!
