The weekend we had nothing on the calendar

This was the first weekend all month that we did not have something scheduled, so we took full advantage of being able to relax!

Saturday we took the kids up by Mimi and Paw Paw and went swimming. In this heat, that's really all you can do right now. The kids are becoming really good swimmers. Jill was even putting her face in the water and blowing bubbles. They also jumped from the ledge a few times and did some cannonballs.

After swimming we all pretty much took naps and then headed out the dinner. It was definitely nice to be able to just relax all day and not worry about running around.

Sunday after church we just hung out at the house. It ended up raining in the afternoon, so it was a good thing we didn't have anything planned. I ran up to Ikea with my friend Jenn to find her son a new bed. We found a bed frame for $49, um hello deal!

After the Ikea adventure we all just settled in for dinner and then some brownies. I made chicken kebabs a la king for dinner (recipe is coming on Wednesday) and they were crazy delicious.

I cannot tell you how nice it was to just have a relaxing weekend. Hope yours was just as relaxing!

Thanksgiving Thursday

For those of you that don't know what Thanksgiving Thursday is, it is the one time during the week where you stop and basically count your blessings. Even if you've had one of those weeks, I promise you can find at least one thing to be thankful for, no matter how big or small.

This week I am thankful for:
  • Scott and all that he does and that he helps me dislodge my foot when I put it in my mouth.
  • Scott not only supporting me in this half marathon but for being there at the finish line (granted the mouse said he had to be, but I'll take it!).
  • Scott being willing to shave his head for St. Baldrick's. Ever since we found out about Bryce we have definitely become very passionate about funding for childhood cancer. No family should ever have to go through what George, Amy and Wade have gone through. I cannot wait to see him bald!
  • Aaron's incredible cuteness over the past couple days (it is helping balance the INSANE whining he is doing). When I was getting him ready for his bath he sang, "Time to take shoes off cha cha cha" Where he learned cha cha cha I have no idea, but it was pretty adorable.
  • Jill's singing voice. It's so cute! I need to get some video of her singing "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Mulan, it's classic!
  • Family, I just wish they were closer.
  • A dryer that seems to be working...we'll see how long that lasts.
  • A new dining room set! I love Ikea and I love my new table and chairs!
What are you thankful for?
