You know when you have something that is totally and completely awesome and you do not realize it until you realize not everyone has that? Not to brag about Scott more than I already do but, seriously, he's awesome.
I've already mentioned that he came to cheer me on at the half marathon a few weeks ago even though he had strep, but this week he took it to a whole different level. I've had my medals from my races just sitting in a drawer because I could never decide what I wanted to do with them. I had talked about making shadow boxes with the bib and the medal, but that's a little crazy and would take up far too much wall space. Scott, knowing that I've been wanting to do something, took it upon himself to find me a display for my medals. Check it out:
I was genuinely shocked when I saw this. I had no idea he was even looking for something for me. When I asked him why he thought to do this he said, "You earned those medals, they deserve to be shown off."
I am so lucky to have a husband that supports me in the crazy things I do and even if he is sick, he has a smile on his face and an "I'm proud of you" on his lips when I see him. Even though my running is for me and proving to myself that I can do it, it's just as much a part of having someone to support me and believe in me. I don't know if I would have done any of my half marathons without Scott's support and constant cheering. Have I ever mentioned he has all of my race times saved?
I'm one lucky and blessed girl and I thank the good Lord every night for Scott and his support.
*end bragging now*
