Tomorrow morning I will officially have two kindergartners. My readiness for this event on a scale of 1-10 is a negative 1. Maybe that's a slight exaggeration and I'm really like a 2.
Tonight I laid out all of their school supplies and separated them into their respected bags. I still cannot believe how many things they needed for school and I know in future years the lists will only get longer.
They are genuinely excited about school and their new teachers. This is also the first year they will be in separate classes, something that I do not think has fully sunk in with them. They will eat lunch together (if they want) and apparently their classes do a lot of projects together, which is always nice.
Speaking of lunch....
I made my very first school lunches tonight. Following the tradition that my Mom started many many years ago, I made them cookie cutter sandwiches. I chose hearts for their first day because I knew writing them "I love you" notes would not be wise, you know since they aren't really reading yet. So heart sandwiches it is!
I cannot believe my babies are going to a big school and taking their own lunches. Ah! When did this happen?!
I'm going to need some serious tissues in the morning...anyone else?

Such cute lunches!
I'm glad I didn't pile all of the supplies out...I probably would have started crying.
