Mother's Day Weekend

First and foremost, Happy Mother's Day to all of you Mommas out there! I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day.

My weekend started with the Girlz on Fire 5k. Michelle and I thought it would be a great way to start the weekend and celebrate us. I PR'ed on the run, even in the heat and humidity. My next goal is to come in under 35 and then ultimately under 30. Baby steps...

After the race, Michelle and I celebrated at Keke's. It's one of our favorite places for breakfast.

The rest of the day was spent hanging out with the kiddos. Scott and Jillian went to lunch and Aaron and I went to lunch. I love individual time with kiddos, it gives us time just to focus on them and learn their little personalities.

Today we started our day with mass. I love that my church does May crowning on Mother's Day. There is something incredibly sweet about that. After mass, we stopped for passion tea lemonades at Starbucks. Can you tell they are my children?

We continued the Mother's Day celebration with a late lunch at Bonefish Grill with Mimi and PawPaw. Normally, I love Bonefish, but this location has really sucked it up the last few times. It was a great afternoon with them though, so that made up for it.

When we came home we did a ton of work in the yard and played some baseball. All in all it was a fantastic weekend. I hope yours was just as wonderful!

Mother's Day

I cannot believe this is my 5th Mother's Day. It was definitely a great day, mainly because I was able to sleep in AND I could take a nap. Bonus!

I spent most of the morning snuggling with my kiddies.

Then we headed out to church.

Aaron's face? Yup, that pretty much stayed all through mass, but he was not the one that needed to be taken out. Ahem...

After my much  needed and quite frankly, deserved, nap, we went to Abuelo's for dinner.

I am so thankful to be a Mommy to these two little kiddos. They have made these past 5 years the most amazing and rewarding years of my life.

Today is also my parents 51st wedding anniversary. Crazy, right?

Happy anniversary Mom and Dad! Thank you for being a wonderful example to all of us on what a marriage is.

Mother's Day Spa

Today was my first ever Mother's Day event at the kiddos school. The room was set up like a spa with hair brushes, nail polish and refreshments.  I was beyond excited to be with my kids at school and I know they were equally excited.

The kiddos came over and brushed my hair and painted my nails (and quite possibly my hands).  Jill picked a sparkly color and Aaron picked a hot pink.

They also gave me a basket of paper flowers and a picture.

This will go down as hands down one of the best days. I love these moments and am so glad I was able to pop by and have this morning with my kids.

Happy Mother's Day

In honor of Mother's Day today is all about my MOM! Here's a photo of the two of us in 1983:

I pretty much have the best MOM on the planet, seriously. I can call her with anything and know she will always be there for me no matter what.

*Side note: I love that I have a different hair color in every single photo*

She's also an amazing Busia! Aaron and Jill love her to pieces and we had such a great time with her when we were in Chicago.

Happy Mother's Day to the best MOM/Busia/best friend a girl could ever ask for!

Mommy and Me Monday

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?
Hosted by Krystyn

Yesterday we went to Lakeridge Winery for the Jazz Festival. It was awesome! They had a free wine tasting and a band plus different food vendors. The kids and I spent most of the time walking around checking out the grounds. This place is beautiful! Scott and I are thinking of going back for another tour when it's not so crowded.

I hope all of you wonderful ladies had a great Mother's Day! Be sure to play along with Mommy and Me Monday over at Really are you serious?

I'm still here!

I promise I have not fallen off the Earth or anything, we've just been super busy!

On the kids birthday we went to EPCOT with my parents and had an amazing lunch at Le Cellier. They're where I got the recipe for the cheddar cheese soup. Naturally, theirs is better. The weather was pretty muggy again so we called it quits after a little while and went back to the hotel to meet up with Scott and have some dinner. Dzia Dzio gave the kids cookies though before dinner. I mean it is their birthday after all ;)

Thursday we went back to EPCOT to have dinner at Coral Reef in The Seas. I always forget this restaurant is there, even though we had our rehearsal dinner in the VIP room above the restaurant. The food was amazing, even though it's a little morbid to be eating fish while watching fish swim around in a tank. The kids ate really well too, mainly bread, but a lot of it.

It rained while we were at dinner so the park had started to clear out and we were able to walk right on Journey into Imagination and then let the kids play afterward without it being crazy.

Of course this caused all of us to work up an appetite and therefore we need to stop at the bakery in France for dessert. We got the kids palmiers (elephant ears, sounds so much better in French) and Jill ate almost the whole thing. Aaron was *gasp* too tired to eat.

Friday the kids had their 2 year appointment at the pediatrician. Aaron weighs 31 lbs and is 35 inches long. They estimate he will be around 5'11" when he is an adult. That puts him in the 75% percentile in both height and weight. Jillian weighs 28 lbs and is 34 3/4 inches long. They estimate that she will be between 5'8" and 5'9" when she is an adult. She is in the 75% percentile for height and 50% percentile for weight. Hopefully we don't have to go back until their birthday next year.

Today has been pretty chill so far. My parents are back at our house for the rest of the week, so we played outside for a little bit before the heat got out of control.

Jill almost fell asleep in her swing, poor kids are so tired!

Our garden is doing insanely well! We have 2 tomatoes that have popped through, a few strawberries and any day now we should have green peppers and zucchini!

Hope you're having a great weekend and Happy Mother's Day to all of you mama's out there!
