College fund? More like therapy fund....

We went to Downtown Disney the other night to meet up with my brother Chris and sister in law Pam for dinner. For once in our life post twins we were really early (if you have twins or more you know this does not happen often) so we had a chance to let the kids run around in the Lego playground. They had actually just opened it because it was too hot earlier in the day, so nobody was there, which was perfection.

Notice how Aaron is sliding, my sister Cathy calls this the reverse Superman. He does it every single time he slides, I have no idea why. Aaron was also a super big boy and climbed the rock wall they have there without any help. Jill was content walking up the stairs and going down the slide. Naturally, she smiled and made sure everyone was watching when she went down the slide. I have a serious diva on my hands.

After they played for a while we thought it would be better to go cool down somewhere, I mean it is only 100 degrees without the humidity outside. As we were walking around Jill spotted "the pretty" aka Cinderella. Jill and Aaron both ran over and gave the statue tons of hugs.

Do you see how tan my children are? Definitely not a gene that was inherited from me. It's probably that not-enough-of-a-fraction-to-get-a-scholarship Cherokee that they have. Lucky kids.

We ended up having dinner at T-Rex which is a favorite of mine because the kids can be loud and nobody cares. Genius I tell ya! The only problem is Aaron was not a fan, at all. He laid in my lap the entire time. I know he got spooked the last time we went to Rainforest Cafe, giant animatronic gorillas can do that to a kid, but I thought we'd be ok at T-Rex. Not so much. He was crying the second we walked in. He survived though and I just went ahead and added another $5 to his therapy fund for when he's older. Really, it's the least I can do at this point.

Minus Aaron not having a great time, dinner was good. Jill talked the entire time (I know Cathy the apple doesn't fall far from the tree blah blah blah) and reminded everyone that there were in fact trees above us, in case we missed that.

I'm wondering though, how can I get Aaron over the fear of these restaurants? Any tips?

Thanksgiving Thursday

This week I am thankful for:
  • Scott making my coffee (he reminds me at least once a day that he makes me my coffee...every day). It is some pretty good stuff though.
  • Moments like this:
  • Aaron telling me he loves me too every time I say "I love you Aaron!"
  • Jill learning to just go ahead and put herself in time out. Seriously. Yesterday she did something (probably to Aaron) and when I went to tell her "no" she walked over to the corner and stood there.
  • Morning tea time:
  • Phone conversations with my MOM when she's still coming out of anesthesia. Hilarious, seriously hilarious.
  • Phone conversations with my MOM when she's on pain pills, equally hilarious.
  • Fantastic family and friends that surround us!
  • A great dinner with my brother Chris and sister in law Pam last night:
  • Our upcoming Greek dinner with the B6. I'm equally thankful that I'm just in charge of the salad :) oh and dessert.
  • Acing my first college paper in years (seriously, years). I got a 90%, hollar!
  • The fabulous Liz Lyons, for being, well fabulous.
  • The west coast feed of the Disney Channel, it's awesome.
What are you thankful for this week?

Let's roar like the dinosaurs!

My parents, sister and niece are finally in town! WOO HOO! I took the kids over to the hotel to meet up with them and then went to dinner with my parents. Aaron and Jill spent most of the time jumping on the beds, wonder where they learned that from???

Here are some photos from our dinner at T-Rex:

Aaron was not a fan of the "meteor showers" this time and would either hold my, or my Dad's hand. Jill, on the other hand, roared back at the dinosaurs which was pretty hilarious.

Hope you've had a great day!

An update, finally :)

I am alive, I promise! The past several days have been jam packed with stuff, so I haven't had a chance to update.

My parents made it in safely on Wednesday night, and the kiddos were actually still up when they got here. Aaron and Jill weren't too sure what to think at first, it has been a while since they had seen Busia and Dzia Dzio (May, actually), but Busia came prepared and had wooden puzzles for the kiddos. So if you were ever wondering if my children could be bought, the answer is yes.

Thursday we ran over to Downtown Disney to pick up the tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and then have lunch at T-Rex. I had to go to help register people for the FOMOTC Convention (Florida Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs) so the kiddos napped and hung out with Busia and Dzia Dzio the rest of the afternoon. I met up with everyone at Magic Kingdom and we got the kiddos dressed for the party. We were having issues with Jill and her tinkerbell costume, when I say issues I mean she hated it, not disliked, hated it. Thankfully we had a plastic spoon and that did the trick. As long as she had that spoon (and you better believe she held onto it the entire night) she was ok with her costume. Aaron made a super handsome Peter Pan and smiled at everyone that commented on just how handsome he looked. The party itself was great! Disney limits the amount of people that are allowed in on any given night so it makes the party more enjoyable. The longest wait we had was 15 minutes at Peter Pan, everything else was pretty much a walk on. We missed the parade (which is so cute if you ever get the chance to go) but did manage to see the fireworks. Jill and Aaron even clapped after they finished, it was way too cute! Here are some photos and video from that day:

Friday we all just hung out. I had to work the registration table again, so I was gone most of the afternoon/early evening. Saturday I was gone from really early in the morning until the midde of the afternoon for the convention. Saturday was the business meeting and luncheon. It was really informative. I really wasn't familiar with what all the state club did, so it was great to see what resources we have available. The national president was there as well. Terri Gillis is actually a member of our local club (one of the charter members I believe) so I had met her before, but really had a chance to just chit chat with her over the weekend. It was great to be able to speak with other mothers of multiples from all over Florida (there was 88 of us). At the luncheon the Caldwell Triplets (identical BBB) spoke to us. There are in their 50s I believe, and actually really humorous. I love hearing from older multiples, it gives me hope that I'm not totally screwing my children up :)

While I was gone for the day at convention, Busia and Dzia Dzio were "in control", which means the kiddos got to jump on the bed (the guest bed), play in the living room (gated off) and have an entire glass of iced tea, see:

Thanks again to my folks for coming down to hang out and help out while I was at convention! And thanks to Kelly and Beth for hosting a great convention, glad I could help out!

Happ Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!
Yesterday was a full day for us! We went to T-Rex for lunch with my Dad and it was packed! But we did manage to get there before the bulk of the crowd did, so we lucked out. I also got to finally eat a burger (I gave up beef/red meat for Lent) and honestly.... I could easily go another 40 days without it. Here are some photos and video from the day...
Last night we went to the Easter Vigil mass because Scott was completing the R.C.I.A process and becoming a full member of the Catholic Church (thank you again Lani for babysitting!). I have never been to the Easter Vigil before, all I knew was that it was a long service. The first portion of it is in the dark and we all hold candles, then the Father Jean baptized 6 candidates and then confirmed and gave Holy Communion to 4 candidates. It was a beautiful service and I am so proud of Scott and could not be happier! I am very glad that he is apart of the same Church as myself and the kids! Here are some photos from the service...

This morning we did Easter baskets with the kids, I wish I had more photos to show you, but apparently my underwear decided to make an appearance in 90% of the photos...yay memories! But here are the G rated photos...

Today I'm making dinner for everyone and we're just going to relax I think. No big plans that I know of! Hope everyone has a very happy and very blessed Easter!

The non farmers market and T-Rex

Today we went to what we thought was going to be the farmers market, and it turned out the be the spring art fest. I'll admit it, I was bummed at first because I really wanted to get some good yummy produce, but there were a ton of good vendors and really pretty pieces. After the art fest we went to lunch with Mimi and PawPaw at T-Rex in Downtown Disney. The kids LOVED it! Plus it's perfect for little kids, honestly, because they can be as loud as they want and not bother anyone! Plus there are a lot of animatronics for them to look at. After all that we went to the grocery store and the kids got to ride in the car cart. I'm not a huge fan of these, but at the grocery store they are the only ones I can use that will seat both of them. Here are some photos and video of the day.Mimi and Jill Jill with Mimi's caneAaron enjoying some puffs at T-RexScott and his little ladyMe and my little manJill and MimiPawPaw and I conducting very important business on our Blackberry'sAaron was all tuckered out, but not nosey rosey! At the store
