Way Back When-esday: The Baptism

Dateline: November 23, 2008

Age: 6 months

Every Thanksgiving I am reminded of the kiddos baptism. We purposely chose the weekend before Thanksgiving to have them baptized because we knew the majority of the family would be in town. There are so many traditions associated with baptisms and our family is no different. Almost every person in our family has been baptized in the same gown (the one Jill is wearing). It was originally my great-grandmother's wedding dress and is over 100 years old. Just writing that gives me chills. It is such an awesome tradition to have.

The other reason I am reminded of their baptism is that it was one of Father Steve's last baptisms before he passed. We were so lucky and blessed to have known him and to have him in our lives. I am so thankful he baptized our kids and brought Scott into the Catholic faith. I will never forget him carrying Aaron around during the homily and then joking that he should have picked the lighter one. You are deeply missed Father Steve.

Look at my peanuts! They were so tiny! Do I say that every week? Yup, I'm pretty sure I do. I miss these moments and honestly, I miss having the days with the kiddos for moments like these.

Fun fact: The name of this blog came from the t-shirt I'm wearing in the picture, it says "Mother of Twins: Twice the Love...Half the Sleep".

How perfect that I took this photo exactly a year ago? Aaron is obsessed with Belle, like he LOVES her. We happened to find while hanging out at EPCOT and she didn't have a line, so he got to have his time with his lady love. I love this photo and how excited he and Belle are with each other.

I had to pick this photo since this was my "job" for the past 4 years. I loved every second with this kiddos, even if I didn't always say I loved it. I'm so lucky to have had these past 4 years with them and being able to watch them hit all of their milestones.

These were the first professional photos we had taken of the kiddos. All things considered they did really well and the faces they made throughout are memorable to say the least. I mean really, look at those faces. They're very "McKayla's Not Impressed" aren't they? Well, seeing that this was taking in 2008, I guess they originated that meme.

Way Back When-esday: In Sickness

Dateline: November 13, 2009

Age: 18 months

Why did I pick this picture? It was the first time Jill ever had an ear infection, it was also her first febrile seizure. We have been seizure free for over a year (knock on wood), but definitely not ear infection free.  

Jill's ear infection is hopefully on the mend and the strep test came back today and was negative (woo hoo!). I even saw a glimpse of the old Jill (who by the way suddenly prefers Jillian) this morning:

So thankful we are on the mend, and definitely thankful that we are past those first few episodes with ear infections.

I think this was the kiddos first time eating the Mickey rice krispie treats. We were waiting for the night time parade at Magic Kingdom. Honestly, I cannot remember if it was ELP or Spectro.
