This was from the fall festival that my local Mothers of Twins Club would hold every year. They were so tiny, I mean look at them!

Fun fact: The name of this blog came from the t-shirt I'm wearing in the picture, it says "Mother of Twins: Twice the Love...Half the Sleep".

How perfect that I took this photo exactly a year ago? Aaron is obsessed with Belle, like he LOVES her. We happened to find while hanging out at EPCOT and she didn't have a line, so he got to have his time with his lady love. I love this photo and how excited he and Belle are with each other.

I had to pick this photo since this was my "job" for the past 4 years. I loved every second with this kiddos, even if I didn't always say I loved it. I'm so lucky to have had these past 4 years with them and being able to watch them hit all of their milestones.

These were the first professional photos we had taken of the kiddos. All things considered they did really well and the faces they made throughout are memorable to say the least. I mean really, look at those faces. They're very "McKayla's Not Impressed" aren't they? Well, seeing that this was taking in 2008, I guess they originated that meme.

I think this was the kiddos first time eating the Mickey rice krispie treats. We were waiting for the night time parade at Magic Kingdom. Honestly, I cannot remember if it was ELP or Spectro.

Way Back When-esday: Silver Anniversary

Dateline: June 6th, 1987

Today is my brother Art and his wife Karyn's 25th wedding anniversary! How cool is that? They are celebrating their silver anniversary the same year our parents are celebrating their golden anniversary. I was the flower girl in the wedding and 19 years later their daughter (who was 4 at the time) was my flower girl in my wedding. I wish I could have found a photo of the whole wedding party for this, or even just one with my brother in it.

This was one of their first times having ice pops.  They quickly became summer favorites, the trick was trying to finish them before the summer heat melted them.

Way Back When-esday: The 50th Anniversary Edition

Dateline: May 12, 1962

On Saturday my parents will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. Is that not the most amazing thing ever? 

I can't even begin to describe their relationship, but obviously it is something special if they are still together, and more importantly, in love, after all of these years. 

I'm going to talk more about their wedding and anniversary on Saturday, but really wanted to share this photo for way back when-esday.

Way Back When-esday: The Day Before

Dateline: May 4th, 2008 

Age: 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant

This photo is from the night before the kiddos were born. I was GIGANTIC at this point and super uncomfortable. I had put on 70ish pounds while I was pregnant, and really I put almost  60 on in the last 4 months. I believe my Mom's exact words to my sister (thankfully, not in front of me) were "Oh my God something is not right with her stomach!" to which my sister replied, "She has two in there!".  I also had PUPPS and was a big, itchy mess.  

I also had a feeling I was in labor and had been all day. I felt like total garbage but chalked it up to nerves. My water ending up breaking that night and the rest is history. We welcomed the kiddos at 3:27 and 3:29 am.

Makes My Monday: Friendly Neighbors

For many of you, Spring is just, well, springing. Here in Florida, Spring is summering and it was around 90 degrees today. You know what made my Monday? Our neighbor who invited us over to swim.

What made my Monday even better? The kids both passed out on the couch shortly after we got home. I haven't seen a nap in months people, MONTHS!


Thank you again to our amazing neighbor for not only letting us swim today, but for providing snacks, and most especially great company!

Age: 10 months

Oh, how I miss the days of the playzone. It was so wonderful. They were contained, not getting into everything. If I left and came back they were right there. The house wasn't covered in toys. It was bliss.

Hmm....I don't miss Aaron's drool in this photo though.

The kids are currently in love with the book Chicka Chicka Boom Boom. The first time they ever heard this story their Auntie Jenn (my darling friend) was the one that read it to them. We have read this book everyday, twice a day, for 2 weeks now. Here is the photographic proof that Auntie Jenn started it!

This is one of my favorite photos of the kiddos (do I say that every week?). We took this at Animal Kingdom and it wasn't even posed. The kiddos both just sat down on the bench. I really want to try and recapture this shot again to see the differences.

In other news, I went to the ENT today about my nose and he said it was not broken, but she did a real number on it. The way he described it is the bone part of your nose is like a pyramid and my daughter basically hit the bottom of the pyramid and it's shifted. The one part is pushing on the septum and that's why I can barely breathe out of my left nostril. He also said she really knocked my septum out of place too. So the options are to 1) do nothing (not gonna happen) 2) he could numb the outside and inside of the nose and use some tools to try and put it back into place. That works 75% of the time, but if it doesn't it may look worse and then I would need a septoplasty or 3) Wait until the swelling is down and have a septoplasty to fix everything. He also said since he would have to break my nose anyway if there was anything else I wanted done he could do that as well. Insurance will pre-approve the septoplasty but will not guarantee full payment until after they read the post-op notes from the surgeon. They will cover the anesthesia and operating room costs, but there's no guarantee on anything else. I'm opting for #3 and hoping for the best. We'll see what happens.
