Makes My Monday: Friendly Neighbors

For many of you, Spring is just, well, springing. Here in Florida, Spring is summering and it was around 90 degrees today. You know what made my Monday? Our neighbor who invited us over to swim.

What made my Monday even better? The kids both passed out on the couch shortly after we got home. I haven't seen a nap in months people, MONTHS!

Thank you again to our amazing neighbor for not only letting us swim today, but for providing snacks, and most especially great company!

Pools and Popsicle's

I already feel my brain melting from the heat and summer isn't even in full swing yet, hence the lack of posts and updates. The only thing to do at this point is sit in the pool and eat Popsicle's.

I know, it's tough, but somebody has to do it.

Mommy and Me Monday

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?

I may or may not have forgotten to take photos this week of me and the kiddos. I also may or may not have totally slacked on taking Father's Day photos yesterday, I was distracted by an insanely adorable 12 day old baby.

Anywho, here are some pictures from us in the pool last weekend that I never got to post:

We really wanted to have some pool time yesterday but the clouds naturally rolled in and then failed to produce any rain. Mimi and Paw Paw got the kids new floaties too, they have the arm bands and a waist band. I saw them in One Step Ahead, but they were sooooo much cheaper at BJ's. Can't wait to try them out!

A grape stomping good time

Today we went to the Lakeridge Winery's Harvest Festival. It was insanely hot, but was definitely worth checking out. They had arts and crafts, live music, tons of food, wine (obviously) and of course, grape stomping. All proceeds from the door went to the local hospice, which I think is an amazing charity.

It was just too hot today to really hang out so we decided to come home and let the kids splash in the pool.

Yes, all my kids were in the pool.

Tomorrow Scott is being honored at our church since he is the youngest father in our parish. How cool is that?! What are your big plans for Father's Day?

Feeling hot hot hot

Yesterday it was 113 degrees with the heat index. Yup, 113. I think it was 100 without the heat index. Clearly, it's way to hot to anything but splash in the pool. We decided to take the kiddos up by Mimi and Paw Paw's for a late after dip. This was their first time in the big pool this year, and Aaron jumped right in, literally. The boy has no fear, none, zip zero. He was a fish the entire time and got mad when we would hold him in the pool. I'm definitely looking for swim lessons so I can be more confident with him swimming on his own (yup, I'm that paranoid mother). Jilly did great too, she wasn't all about swimming, she enjoyed floating around and occasionally splashing Paw Paw. It's supposed to be super hot again today, so I'm thinking indoor activities. I just can't get over how hot it is already. Makes me wonder what August is going to be like (yikes!). Stay cool everyone ;)

Way back When-esday

Dateline: April 2009
Age: 11 months

This was the kids first dip in the pool. I can't believe the water was warm enough at this time last year. They took right to the water and I cannot wait to see what they will be like this summer!
