Yesterday we went on a playdate, the first in a long time, at Lani's house. The kiddos had a great time, and for once they were not in my lap the entire time/most of the time, well mainly because Ben was there. We also got to see the Pierce Peanuts (as I call them) Evan and Taylor. We haven't seen them in a while, and it is crazy how big they have gotten! Jill followed the "big kids" around and tried to do what they were doing, even tried to climb on the water table because you know, she's a big girl too. Aaron I think was just excited that there was a plethora of balls to play with, it's the simple things in life with him, I love it! Thanks again Lani for having us over! Here are some pictures from the playdate (notice none of my kids...I need to get better about taking pictures)
Since the kiddos played hard they fell asleep in the car on the 10 minute (if that) ride home and fought their way through lunch before going down for their nap. Come to find out Aaron ended up sleeping with some chicken nugget in his mouth...awesome....
After lunch we brought out the Cozy Coupes. Jill has already been playing with them since she discovered them in the hall, and when I say playing with I mean pulling out the floor board so that doesn't get in her way. Aaron likes his and can actually move around a little in it, but Jill....she LOVES this thing! Even this morning she ran right into it and sat there and finished her milk, like our dining room is a drive in movie theater! They are still getting used to being in the cars, and have had some problems with slipping under the car (awesome) but all in all they love having them out in the play area. All I can say is at least they really don't know how to move in them yet, otherwise I may have some holes in my walls.
Last night I had my first executive board meeting for GOMOTT and on the way there is was like God knew I needed some musical motivation! The classic rock station played my song, Journey's "Don't stop believing" and oh yes, I turned it way up and rocked out like none other. Now you may be wondering, why would a twenty something be rocking out to this band....Ok well if looks weren't enough (I mean come on mullets, perms, leather, it's a winning combination!), their song "Don't stop believing" was the theme song for the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox (notice the title on the photo)...
Steve Perry (um lead singer for all those that don't know, he's the guy with the super awesome mullet) was also present at every game in the series. He no longer has the magic mullet, maybe that's why we haven't won the series since then, just a theory people. Oh and they are coming to Amway Arena in Septemeber, and yes I actually called to try and win tickets. Back to the story, so I was rocking out to my song (people staring the whole time mind you) and then I switched to another station where they were playing....wait for it....Rick Springfield's Jessie's Girl.
UHHHHHHHHH another awesome song! Now I don't know many of Dr. Noah Drake, I mean Rick Springfield's songs, and I usually fast forward through him singing on General Hospital (where he also plays Eli Love the Austrailian bad by of rock and roll, who Dr. Noah Drake neurosurgeon briefly filled in for while Eli was recovering from brain surgery, I mean hello) but I love this song! But then, it get's better! How you ask? Ummm this station played "Don't stop believing"! Yeah! Seriously! In case you forgot that song was the theme for the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox....
So now that you know that I have a weakness for cheesey classic rock, I should probably go...haha
