Thankgiving Thursday

Christmas is just a short 15 days away! Clearly something to be thankful for! This week I am also thankful for:
  • This being the last week that Scott has his crazy schedule!
  • Scott being Scott :)
  • The funny things the kids have been doing lately, and how they both try to get away with touching the tree.
  • Mississippi State Cheese! For those of you not lucky enough to have Mimi and PawPaw order you the coveted Mississippi State Cheese, you are more than welcome to come over and try some. *I cannot guarantee that there will be any cheese left
  • This photo:
  • It only being one more week until my parents, sister and niece get here!!! I just hope they don't bring any of that crazy Chicago weather with them!
  • Great friends! Ya'll are the best!
  • Florida AND USC losing this past weekend! Could it have gotten any better?! Oh wait it did....
  • Great work opportunities! I got to talk to Rachel Coleman, the star and co-creator of Signing Time today! She's so sweet and down to Earth! Look for the interview this Monday on Multiples and More!
  • All of those men and women who have sacrificed being home with their families this holiday season to help defend us. I have a few friends overseas and I know they have not been home for Christmas in quite a few years.

Way back When-esday: Rehearsal Dinner

Date: May 26th, 2006
Where: Disney's Living Seas in EPCOT

This photo is of Scott and I the night before our wedding :) We were married at Disney's Wedding Pavilion on May 27th, 2006 and had our rehearsal at Disney's Boardwalk followed by the dinner at The Living Seas in EPCOT. You know how they say it is good luck to have rain on your wedding day? Well, I don't know what they say about torrential downpours at rehearsal dinners, but it seems to have the same effect! Disney event cast members were trying to keep up dry with ponchos and umbrellas, but let's face it once your hair hits rain/humidity there is no poncho that can save that. The night was really good (kind of seems like yesterday) though and there were plenty of surprises! Scott's grooms cake was changed last minute by me and our wedding planner (he was supposed to have a Seminoles cake but since he worked for Security at the time we had his badge replicated on the cake, it was wonderful!), my Dad got an entire plate of carrots (which he hates), my brother made sure I as well had a full plate of carrots (not a fan) and both of my brothers provided fishing hats and poles for everyone so they could "catch their own dinner". I can't believe it's almost been 3 years, and so much has changed since then (especially our looks, pretend we still look like that!)

What did we do this weekend?

So I have some catching up to do. I've talked more about my
awesome work project and less about my family. So the other day my children decided to boycott nap time, all day. Here is a photo of Jill around 4 pm that day...

I'm starting to fear that they are about to give up a nap. I really hope they don't, that's Mommy time, meaning that's coffee and shower and lunch time.
The kids are really into Signing Time. We have the first volume called "My first signs" and the second Jill hears "Hi! I'm Rachel!" this is what she looks like...
And Aaron...They both love the DVD though and I like it a lot too. It makes it easy for me to understand sign language. Scott took 4 semesters in college and loves being able to get back into it.
I'm really getting into Mission Organic. It's like a challenge for me now at the grocery store. I've switched to organic coffee (I know!), organic eggs, organic/natural laundry detergent (Seventh Generation is awesome by the way) organic/natural cleaning products (Method rocks my socks off), and even organic pizza (Amy's Natural is out of this world!). I can't wait to go back to the farmers market next week, we haven't been in a while because of Scott's R.C.I.A masses, and we've definitely noticed the difference (price and taste wise).
We got the kitchen baby proofed this weekend. Scott and PawPaw installed the cabinet locks (that I always forget are on there) so now all we need are gates to block off the living room. I think that will cover it for a while. While Mimi and PawPaw were here Jill took Mimi's cane (her new favorite toy) and crawled around the house with it....Aaron was busy playing though and could kind of care less about the cane, for now anyway...This morning was kind of nasty out. It rained all morning so the kids and I stayed home while Scott went to mass. The kids did like watching the rain fall, or they just like looking out the window, not sure which yet...And they both still love that house they got yesterday! I know I promised video, but for some reason One True Media is not a fan of me today and does not want me to upload anything, so here's a photo of Jill playing in the doorwayShe loves to push the doorbell which drives our dog insane! Aaron likes to play with the sun and moon that are on top. They both like to sit on either side and open and close the door at each other, it's cute to watch!
That's all I can think of right now, plus this is becoming a really long post, sooooo on that note enjoy the rest of your weekend and check out the new contest at Multiples and More!

Thanksgiving Thursday

>>

I know I say it every week, but where did the time go??? This week I am thankful for...
  • Friday being tomorrow and getting to share the big news. I'm not a very good secret keeper, and I am impressed that I have held out this long.
  • Awesome weather, even though the pollen is out of control. It hasn't been too hot down here, which is lovely. Yay for spring!
  • My kids and all that they do. Aaron had me laughing so hard yesterday and it made my afternoon. I love that they can change my whole day!
  • My Sara Snow book coming in yesterday! I have something new to read while my photos load on Facebook, Myspace and here!
  • Scott for being understanding during this crazy time (again can't wait until tomorrow!!!).
  • Health and the power of prayer. If you are so inclined, please visit MckMama and pray for her little boy Stellan.
  • I know I wasn't going to say it this week, but my coffee pot and the local Starbucks have had several visits from me this week, so thank you for being my caffeine boost at any given time!
  • Davy Jones. Even though we didn't get to see him, thank you for being at EPCOT because your fans gave me, Scott and Lani hours worth of conversation!
  • Signing Time. If you have kids, I totally recommend these! Jill smiles the second she hears "Hi, I'm Rachel!" Plus, it makes it easy for me to learn too!
  • Maria Shriver following me, yes me, on Twitter. I know it's probably some assistant who clicked me, but none the less, Maria Shriver is following me and I think that's awesome!
Hope you have a lot to be thankful for this week! Play along with Nicole at What a trip!

Sunday Recap

Ah happy Monday morning everyone! It is super foggy over here. Do you remember when you were little and you would watch cartoons and if it was foggy in the cartoon the character would use a sword and cut through the fog? Yeah I totally wish I could do that, it's pretty nasty out. Anyway, yesterday was pretty cool. Scott has completed another step in RCIA (Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults in case you were wondering) and I've never been prouder! We're only a few weeks away from Easter when he makes all his sacraments which is really really exciting! Yesterday afternoon we ran over to Walmart and got me a smaller desk so that way the kids have a bigger play area. We also got the kids two of those medium size plastic balls. I wish I had my camera because Scott brought Jill around the corner and she had her princess ball in her hand and was just beaming! It was almost like she was thinking "Oh my goodness look at this! It has princesses!" I'm glad $3 toys make their day, I wonder how long that will last? Aaron pouted pretty much the whole time we were there, he HATES Walmart, no clue why, just does not like it. Maybe he's just a typical guy and doesn't like to shop? Here's a photo of them playing "nice" yesterday...
Then last night after the kids went down and we (and when I say we I mean Scott) were putting the old desk in the garage we (and this time I mean we) saw the shuttle launch. Well, Scott saw it, and I saw the trail it left, I still haven't seen one. We always forget when they're going up, and coming back for that matter. I remember my first time when a shuttle returned, I about jumped out of my skin! I was sitting on the couch, watching it mind you, and I heard this 'BANG!" I thought there was a drive by or something. I called Scott and was like "Oh my God I think somebody shot someone out here!" and he was like "No, Amanda that was the shuttle landing, it's called the sonic boom, helllllllooooooooooo". It was pretty funny, and he reminds me of it everytime there is one. Here are a couple of photos Scott took last night of the trail...So then, Scott and I are in bed, getting ready to fall asleep and talking about our day, and we were talking about the songs we can't stand on the kids favorite nursery rhyme DVD and he started talking about the Apples and Bananas song. I was like what about it? And he was like (oh my gosh this is hard to type, I'm still laughing) "I hate when they switch to those foreign languages, I mean what is that?" Oh my gosh it's still as funny as it was last night, give me a minute...woooooo....So I was like "Um no, it's teaching them their vowels. A-A-A Apples and Bananas E-E-E Epples and Benenes etc." and you could literally see the light bulb click on. Oh I love my husband, but that was HILARIOUS! Can you tell we're still sleep deprived from daylight savings?
Ok, let me wipe that tear from laughing so I can continue....so as recommended by Lani, I bought the kids Signing time and they like it, a lot. Scott loves it too, he took sign language as his foreign language in college, and actually lined danced with a deaf couple, so he was really good at it. I think he's more excited about it than the kids. He's also convinced that Jill was signing dog yesterday. Maybe, who knows. The only negative I have with it is that the theme song is permanently embedded in my head, but that's not entirely bad I guess.
No big plans today, I always say that don't I but then end up doing something that would qualify as a big plan, oh well. Hope you have a great day!
