A little of this, and a lot of that...

It's gonna be a long one, so buckle up! Yesterday we went to Party Flavors to order the cake for the kids birthday, it's going to be awesome, that's all I have to say! Scott had to work last night, so nothing else really interesting happened. I did find a new table and chairs though, under $500, how exciting! Today we went to the farmers market and Lani had our CD with the photos from Clearwater. They came out awesome, and I can't wait to see them when they are "fixed". I wonder if Johnna came make me tan, because boy do I blend in...Then we ran to Target today and got the kids a new toy. We got them a push toy from Playskool (which they have on sale for $18, and that was my shameless plug for the day) and Jill loves to push it, and is pretty good at it which is scary. Aaron wasn't too sure on the whole pushing thing, but he did like to sit on it and yell at his sister when she would come close. Below is some video and a few pictures...

Lani and Melissa both nominated me for Mom of the year. It's a blog award and here are the rules:

2. to remind yourself that you ARE a good mom, list SEVEN things you love about your kids, you love doing with your kids, or that your kids love about you. these are the things to remind yourself of EVERY DAY that you rock!

I would have to say the one thing I feel awful about is that if they are melting down I put in a Baby Einstein, no questions asked. I tend to take the easy way out with that because I know it will give me 30 minutes of no whining. I guess there are worse things in life, but I tend to feel guilty during those 30 minutes, like I'm not spending enough time with them or doing something constructive with them.

And my seven things...
1) I love the looks on their faces first thing in the morning. Jill leans over to see down the hall and Aaron is now peeking around the corner to see who is coming to get them. I love the smiles, claps and bounces I get when I walk in the door.
2) I love that Aaron cuddles with me and Jill gives me kisses, wet drool kisses, but kisses none the less!
3) I love all the new things they are doing, and watching them do things for the first time and just how excited they get. I feel so proud when they are excited that they did something new!
4) I love that Jill will hum with me in the car and then Aaron will join in almost like he's saying "A little off key there Mom!"
5) I love bath time, even though I end up soaked, I love it! I love watching them play and splash!
6) I love bedtime, not for the obvious reason, but because they will just cuddle with you, I think I am going to miss that the most when they are older.
7) I just love them, plain and simple! I was so excited when I found out I was pregnant, and to find out I was having two was such a huge blessing! I wouldn't trade it for anything!

A day of firsts

Good morning everyone! I'm just glad to see the sun today, yesterday was really gloomy and had me really unmotivated. We did make it to the farmers market though. I think there are more tents every time we go. We met up with Lani and April there which was nice since we hadn't seen them in a while.
The kids are getting better about drinking their own bottles without me holding it for them. I'll tell you what, it's the best! Aaron still has some work to do on it, but honestly I think he would just rather have one of us hold it for him. Jill will take the bottle anywhere and hold it herself.
They also took their first bath together without a bath seat last night. Jill was trying to make a tidal wave or something in the bathtub. She would just sit and kick her legs, which made Aaron mad because whenever she did it he would be reaching for a toy. It was cute to see them playing and splashing. I think this summer will be fun in the pool for sure.

Busy weekend

Well I thought we would have a fairly chill weekend, but it turned out to be really busy, and eventful! Saturday Lani called and we collectively agreed we had cabin fever and headed out to Epcot for a few hours. Scott thinks it's funny how fast we walk while in the parks, but if we walk slower we get too many questions. And if we constantly look like we are in a deep conversation, we are less likely to be approached. It's all about facial expressions!
Sunday we made our weekly trip to the farmers market and met up with Lani, April and new friends Melissa, Adam and their sons Evan and Taylor (the peanuts!). I think all of us looked at Evan and Taylor and had the same reaction, "When were our babies that small?". How quickly time flies....
We also had our annual Super Bowl party yesterday. I'm going to be honest, was not very excited about the game this year. I'm not a huge Pittsburgh fan (sorry) and I tend to forget that Arizona a)is a state and b) has an NFL team (sorry if you are from there, and don't worry I tend to forget about 90% of the states west of the Mississippi). But the party was a good time, and the kids didn't wake up at any point, which was surprising.
This week is going to be a busy one. My parents come in on Thursday and are staying for a week, I'm pretty pumped!
And on a side note, HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY SANDY AND RICH! I hope it was a great day and here's to many many MANY more years of happiness!

Sunday's Farmers Market

We went to the farmers market in Celebration today and met up with Lani and company, April (minus the triplets) and Scott's parents. We even ran into our friends Tracy and her son Chase. You couldn't ask for better weather than today, it was mid 70s and perfect. We bought a lot of fruit and veggies from the local farmer that is certified organic. Lani was telling me that it is better to buy local and organic because overseas they have no standards per say on the use of pesticide. Gross....
We stayed and had lunch at the cafe with Scott's parents. Aaron passed out, after having a wonderful meltdown (don't mess with the boys schedule!) and Jill fell asleep mid bottle, but of course managed to wake up when our food came. It's amazing how they know when you're about to eat.
And the huge accomplishment of the day....drum roll please....I finally pulled all my maternity clothing out of my closet and have it ready to be packed up. WOO! Not that I've worn any of it lately, but you know you just don't want to take it out of the closet, too much work sometimes. But I'm super pumped that it's gone and my closet is all reorganized. Now if I could just fit into more of my old clothes...*sigh* that's a whole different blog.
Jill is starting to understand the concept of "No" and has learned the deep sigh that all children do when they hear it. Awesome...
And in Aaron news...he's a sneaky one. He keeps ending up on the other side of the playard, and I know he's not just scooting over there, it happens way to fast. I have to find an angle to be able to watch him without him being able to see me. Yes, it has to be a covert operation, otherwise he won't do it.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

So this morning started off about as weird as it does any morning when Jill has on her two piece pajamas. Scott and I usually take bets on if the pants are still on, or if she is using them as a blanket. Well, we both lost that bet, Jill's pants were on but her arm was completely out of the sleeve and that part of the shirt was around her neck. So, that's how the day started. Yeah...
We went out to the farmer's market again in Celebration. Scott's parents came with us too and I think they really enjoyed it. We went a lot earlier this time and there was a much better selection. Plus we stopped at the little French bakery next to it, and yummy, had a croque monsieur, oh it was so good!
We also met 0ur new pastor today, Father Jean Desir. I think he was a little overwhelmed with all the people. I have a feeling he might remember us though, Aaron took a giant, and I mean giant, poop right as we got there. Of course I didn't take a diaper bag with me because, why would I need that if we only live right down the road and we just changed him? Silly Mommy! And of course, everyone wanted to chat us up and hold the kids, which is great, just not when I have a super smelly one. But he seems like a super nice priest. He's the total opposite of Father Steve, which isn't a bad thing. It'll be interesting to see how everything pans out.

Farmers Market

Scott and I took the kids to the farmers market in Celebration today. It wasn't a huge market, but it was pretty neat. We got a ton of super fresh vegetables and some fruit. I think we're going to try and go weekly. The veggies/fruit are way cheaper at the farmers market than at the grocery store and seem to be better quality. One of the stands is also truly organic which is awesome since we are really trying to do the organic thing. We went for a walk after around the lake after we did our shopping. The weather is just amazing right now, I love this time of year in Florida.
Jill pulled herself up into a standing position today (YIKES). She is so ready to just go and move. Aaron is getting there with learning to crawl, I'm not overly concerned, I think it's just his personality. We really don't have too much planned for the week, or at least nothing I can remember right now. Happy Belated Birthday to Scott's niece Kaitlyn! And Happy Birthday to my sister-in-law Karyn! Hope all is well with everyone!
