So many things to be thankful for....

I have to say this season is by far my most favorite of all. I love the holidays! We spent yesterday with my family at Saratoga Springs. My Mom had a turkey and all the fixin's (I live in the semi-south so I can say that now) and it was just a great time. We all went over to Ghiradelli's later for ice cream, but mainly to walk off all the turkey we had just eaten. It was an awesome day and truly makes you think about how lucky and blessed you really are. I hope everyone had an amazing and blessed holiday!

Our first day at Disney

Aaron and Jill on the bus
We're here at Hollywood Studios!

Jill LOVED Lights Motor Action

Aaron hanging out with Buscia

Aaron on The Great Movie Ride

Jill on The Great Movie Ride

Waiting for the bus at the end of the night
So yesterday was our first day at a Disney Park with Aaron and Jill. We went with pretty much everyone in my family to Hollywood Studios (MGM for those who haven't been in a while). The kids LOVED it! I was really nervous about how they would do as far as naps and eating and just in general, and they totally surprised me. Considering everything that was going on around them they both took over hour long naps (yay for Mommy and Daddy!). They saw Muppets 3D (loved it), Lights Motors Action (really loved it), Fantasmic (Aaron screamed at all the Villans and Jill fell asleep) and The Great Movie Ride. They even saw their first celebrity, Ryan Seacrest, they could have look eye to eye (He's pretty short). It was an awesome day to say the least. Scott even took the day off so he could be there for their first day. I can't wait to see how they do today, we're going to Epcot (and I'm flying solo). I honestly have to say I kind of feel like a kid again because I haven't been to the parks in so long and it's just amazing to see how they react to everything. Hope all is well with you!

The Christening

The cake from Party Flavors
Aaron being baptized

Jill being baptized

Today was the kids baptism! We had it at St. Faustina's here in Clermont. It was a beautiful ceremony and everything was perfect. We had a reception immediately after at our home which was pretty good. We used Maggiano's as our caterer, and trust me, I have leftovers for the next month at least! We got our cake from Party Flavors and oh my goodness, it was amazing! They replicated both of the christening gowns onto the cake. It was amazing. The gowns were definitely the centerpiece of the day. Aaron wore Scott's gown and Jillian wore the one that everyone in my family has been christened in (it's over 100 years old). I am so glad everything went well and that everything was beautiful.
Sorry it's short, but I have to finish cleaning up! Hope all is well with all of you!

Our visit with Santa

We went to Mall of Millenia today to see Santa and have our photo taken. We met up with Lani, Todd, Lily, Ben, Cameron and April, Brian, Hunter, Hadden and Hendrix. Poor Santa didn't know what was coming his way! The first two photos went really well, but the third....Jill was full on screaming by the third photo. I don't know if she was scared by Santa or by the guy trying to make her smile. But all in all the whole thing went really well and we had a great time with our friends.
Hope all is well with you!

Autism Walk

Mickey with Keith, who's no longer a fox, Landry from Fox 35
The girl in the pink dress sang the national anthem, it was amazing

Aaron was all smiles!
Jill and Hadden were trying to hold hands

Our team!
Today was the Autism Speaks walk for autism awareness. It was held at Disney's Wide World of Sports, and honestly, in all the years I worked for Disney, this was the first time I had ever been there. The whole event was pretty cool, they had different vendors set up around the track and different speakers (even Mrs. United Nations International, I wanted to steal her crown, no seriously it was pretty awesome). Lani, her mom Linda, April and I were definitely in full freak show form today. We couldn't stop and just stand still for a moment without I guess we should be flattered, right? We tried to get a photo with Keith Landry from Fox 35, but he totally blew us off, maybe we came off as kind of crazy? But like I said the walk was pretty awesome, there were a ton of people there and it was cool to learn more about autism.
In other news....Aaron is getting his first tooth! One of his front bottom teeth has started to poke through, very exciting! Both of the kids are doing much better. Jill has some snot every once and a while but for the most part is back to 100%. Aaron is still a little snotty but is 10 times better than he was the other day.
Monday we are going with Lani and April to have our photos taken with Santa (yes I know it's not after Thanksgiving, but seriously...). I'm just interested to see how the kids react to a big man in a red velvet suit!
That's it around here, hope all is well with you!

Finally healthy??? Well....

I think the illness is starting to leave our house. WOO WOO! Jill is pretty much over it, she still has a cough every now and then, but nothing major. Aaron is where Jill was the other day, so I'm hoping that by the end of the weekend Aaron will be over this. However, my third child is now coming down with the mysterious illness. Scott is all stuffy and congested, I hope he gets over this soon.
We got our playard today!!! It's nice to be able to have something where I can walk out of the room for a few seconds and not have to worry about the kids getting into anything.
That's about it over here, the only other thing going on is the Autism walk on Saturday. You can check out the site at http://www.walknowforautism.org/orlando/personal/amnethero
Hope all is well with you!!!

Quick sick update

Things are starting to get better over here...thank God!!! Jill is less congested today and all the snot is finally starting to stop and her cough sounds so much better. She was also in a really good mood today, she even hit her brother a couple of times, so all is back to normal! Aaron is doing ok, his nose is like a faucet and his cough is still pretty rough, but I think he should be back to normal within the next few days.
I pretty much did all of my Christmas shopping for the kids today, woo hoo to being ahead of schedule! I also got their playard today, I think I'm more excited about that than anyone else.
Ok, well that's about it over here hope all is well with everyone!

Update from the Casa de Sick

As Scott says "All three of his kids are sick." Jill is just miserable, but she just started her meds yesterday so hopefully she'll be feeling better soon. Scott took both kids to see the doctor today, and Aaron has RSV too. They say every child will get this at least once by their first birthday, so hopefully this is the only time we will have to deal with this. Aaron isn't too bad, he's just snotty and has a slight cough. Hopefully we caught his early enough that he can bounce back pretty quick.
In other news, Aaron said "Dada" today! Of course Scott was thrilled, but if you ask my sister she says what he really meant was "Oh I'm so excited that Aunt Cathy is coming down next week! I can't wait to see her!" I think that's an awful lot for two syllables, but oh well. The majority of my family will be down within the next week and a half to spend Thanksgiving, which is super exciting. Half of my family has seen the babies, but not since they were tiny little ones, so it will be exciting.
That's all around here...hope all is well with you!

Yucky Bronchitis

So we decided to take Jill to the ER today to have her checked out, her cough sounded worse, she was all snotty and she was vomiting after pretty much every meal. After some X-rays, nasal swabs and thermometers up the rear we found out she has baby bronchitis (also called RSV). They gave her a breathing treatment, well Scott got it too, and then some medication. She's really tired and just not a happy camper all the way around. The doctor said this should work itself out within the week, but we are going to check back in with our doctor by at least mid-week to make sure everything is going well. That's all in our world, hope all is well in yours.

This sick baby thing bites....

Well Jill's fever is down to 99.7. I'm just glad we are out of the 101 and above club. She does have a runny nose and cough too, so I'm thinking she has a cold (who doesn't right now?!) but I think the fever was from the shots. She finally stopped vomiting too, the Pedialtye seemed to help with that. Needless to say today is going to be another take it easy kind of day. Aaron is doing good and doesn't seem to be coming down with anything, and let's just hope it stays that way!
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods!

Check up continued...

Well today has been interesting to say the least. Like I said earlier the kids had another round of shots today, and normally they do really well the rest of the day, just a little tired, but nothing bad. Today, of course, had to be different. Jill ended up running a fever that ranged from 101.8 to 102.8 and she threw up once really bad and another time it was just some spit up. The nurse on call told us not to worry unless she runs a fever of 105 (gosh that seems high, doesn't it???). Jill's never really been sick before so it is kind of hard to handle, and of course you end up over analyzing and stressing out (I even called my Mommy). Hopefully in another hour her fever will be down and that's the worst of it.
But in better news... Aaron is now in his big boy car seat, he loves it! You would think it's a lazy boy recliner in the there or something! I think we're going to end up putting Jill in a big girl one soon because she is outgrowing hers length wise. They also get to have more food during the day, so now they can have 2 tubs of food (either 1st stage or 2nd stage, just not the meats yet) and any kind of cereal that they want. Scott and I had to laugh the other day at the store when we saw that one of the baby jars was risotto with wild grains, seriously I don't eat that good and I'm an adult!
Dr. Rivera was pretty impressed with their development. Both of them can push up really well and push up on their knees too, they just need to figure out the crawling part. But I'm not going to lie, I do enjoy that they aren't crawling just yet, once I get the playard I may change my mind!
Hope all is well!

6 month check up

Well we saw Dr. Rivera this morning and....Aaron is 21lbs 4 oz and 27 3/4 inches long, Jillian is 17lbs 12oz and 26 1/2 inches long. They are right on target as far as development goes, which is awesome. We're going to take it easy today though since they did get some shots. Hope all is well!

6 months and 1 day!

Yesterday my little ones turned 6 months old, or as Scott says "They're half a year!". 6 months sounds nicer to me, doesn't make it seem like the time is flying by quite as fast as it is. We go for the 6 month check up tomorrow. I'm just interested to see how much they weigh and how long they are.
They are into everything lately, and they love to beat each other up. It seems like every time I turn around one is grabbing the others bib or hitting the other in the face, I guess that's just foreshadowing, right?
Yesterday we went with Lani, Lily, Ben and Cameron to Baby Boot Camp. It was pretty cool, they had us walk this hilly walkway and then we would stop and do exercises. I'm going to look into a jogging stroller though if we keep doing it, I think it would just be easier.
Other than that not much else in our neck of the woods. Still getting ready for the Autism walk (November 15th, www.walknowforautism.org). I've raised $75 already which is awesome and the group has raised more than our goal which is pretty good too.
Hope all is well in your neighborhood!

Price check on the idiot in aisle 5...

So apparently, and April will agree I'm sure, only idiots shop at Target. Before I thought they stuck to Walmart, but no...no it's Target. I was there yesterday trying to find a double hole punch for the invitations and Jill was over it, tears and all. So I'm booking it for the check out and this woman sees me heading into the check out, clearly hears Jill (as did half of the store I'm sure), smiles in acknowledgement then cuts in front of me to check out first. Yeah. Seriously. Then before I could say anything this other woman, who had been following me, jumps in front of the stroller and goes "OHHHHHHH TWINS!!!!". Then of course I heard her whole life story, but it still didn't explain the frosted pale pink lipstick she was wearing, but I digress. So then after I finally appease her curiosity the check out lady is trying to play the which one is the oldest game. For some reason everyone guesses Jill. But now that I'm done venting about that....
Our dishwasher died the other night, well it made a zapping noise while smoke was coming out of it (Oh it was something...). Now I remember why I loved paper plates in college.
Well that's it for now...Happy voting everyone!

Lake Eola Fall Fiesta

Today was a fun day out, we went to the Lake Eola Fall Fiesta in the park with Lani and April. The fiesta was pretty cool, they had something like 600 vendors with crafts, food and all that jazz. Lani and I even won tickets to see Heidi Newfield at the Volusia County Fair (I think I was more excited than Lani). As always, we created a scene. Everyone wanted to know if we were all one family (Scott bit his tongue, he wanted to say we were all his wives), or if we were like Jon and Kate plus 8 (Yeah none of our kids are Korean, sorry). Scott has never experienced this, so it was quite a shock for him at just how many people stop all of us when we're together.
In other news I made an AWESOME dinner tonight (not to brag, but yeah really to brag)! I made pork and dumplings (all homemade by the way). If dumpling didn't totally take up all the room in your stomach I probably would have eaten my body weight in them.
Now I need to get my rear in gear and work on these Christening invitations...yeah... Hope everyone has a great night and remembered to reset their clocks last night!

Happy Halloween!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Halloween last night! We laid pretty low for the day, and Aaron was already asleep when the trick or treaters were coming around. Jill looked at all of them like they were crazy, it was cute!
Today has already been a busy day, we went to Party Flavors to get a cake for the christening. Ah, nothing like eating cake at 10am! I think the cake is really going to turn out cute. Richard who is doing it is going to replicate both of the dresses on the cake down to the very last detail. I'm excited, plus I found out they come highly recommend by Duff Goldman from Charm City Cakes (Ace of Cakes on Food Network). I can't wait to see it in person!!!
Tonight is date night for Scott and I, we're going to Maggiano's for dinner. I can't wait, I've been craving mussels lately, so it should be yummy!
Hope everyone has an awesome day!
