The fun has just begun

We really didn't do too much yesterday. It was pretty rainy/gloomy in the morning and was only in the 50's, which is pretty much a shock since it was 85 the other day. The only benefit to gloomy weather is it makes the kids nap longer, yet they still know when I'm about to eat, interesting how that works. Aaron was standing up again yesterday and balancing on Scott. I think he may just skip the whole crawling thing and go straight to walking. I should probably finish baby proofing, huh? Jill is getting faster and faster with her crawling and has tried standing straight up a couple of times. I am so not ready for this! What happened to my 5 and 6 pound munchkins that I just brought home?! They are both starting to get the hang of "no". Jill though, is a stinker, and will look at you and go "Hmm?" and then smile. It's going to be hard to say "no" to her I think. Aaron laughs when you say "no", he's another stinker. My Dad thinks it's great though, he always told me I'd get at least one just like me, in this case though I got one like me, and one like my brother Art! I'm not saying Scott was an angel, trust me I've heard the stories, he was just like my brother Art. The fun is just beginning.... Hope you have a great day!

Thanksgiving Thursday

Another week is almost over, so it's time for Thanksgiving Thursday!

I am thankful for...
  • My annual pass to Disney! Honestly this is the best thing EVER! I love being able to just go in with the kids and hang out, especially Animal Kingdom (well except for yesterday).
  • The security manager at Animal Kingdom yesterday who totally made our day as we were leaving by calling us all show offs because we had to come with more than one baby.
  • Jill's smile and Aaron's laugh, it helps me keep my sanity sometimes.
  • Scott finally figuring out what the problem was in the drain in our bathtub, now I don't have to shower in ankle deep water...yuck.
  • Scott getting reservations at our favorite restaurant for Valentine's day! I'm so excited!!!
  • Nap time, no explanation needed here.
  • Scott thinking that I'm beautiful even if I have baby food in my hair and drool on my shoulder.
  • A great group of friends, an even greater family and a life without any regrets.
  • Our new external hard drive, that way I don't lose any photos if my computer crashes, which I'm sure will happen someday, especially since I have Vista.
I hope you are as thankful as I am!

Should we be behind the fences with the animals?

We went with the group to Animal Kingdom today. It seemed a lot busier there than at Magic Kingdom yesterday, I don't know if that's because the walkways are smaller or what. But, we had a pretty decent time. We saw Pooh, Eeyore, Tigger, Goofy and Pluto. Aaron was not all smiles for those, he was hungry/tired the first time and just over it the second time. Jill LOVED Tigger. The Disney Photo Pass guy got some cute photos of Jill with Tigger, I think I may have to purchase them, they are that cute! We pretty much saw all the animals today, just didn't really get to stop and look. There is no stopping and looking when we are all together, too many people come up then. But it was a great day, we did a ton, so therefore I think we will be taking a day off tomorrow and just laying low. Hope you all had a great day!

The most magical place on Earth.....

3....2....1!

The ferry boat guy wanted us to write the kids names on the sidewalk, and when I saw we I mean Lani.

The group waiting for the show
"What am I watching?"
The "royal couples" in the castle show
Peter Pan and Crew in the castle show

We went to Magic Kingdom today with April, Hunter, Hadden, Hendrix, Lani and Cameron. Yeah, Lani cheated and only brought one baby! It was actually pretty slow today, the lines didn't look like they were too long. We got to watch the castle show too. Aaron was in and out of sleep and Jill just looked at me like "Mommy, these people are crazy!". It was actually a pretty cute show, but I will say, it creeps me out that the characters mouths move and they can blink their eyes. It's also nice when it's slow because all of the restuarants aren't open, so you can pull into one of those areas and feed the kids and not have to worry about every other person going "OH MY GOODNESS!". We're going to Animal Kingdom tomorrow, which is always fun. I just have to remember to put sunblock on myself tomorrow. If you know me, you know I'm a nice cherry color right now. Hope your day was just as magical as ours!

Lazy Monday

Today was a pretty relaxed day. We went and had lunch with Scott's mom. Jill was everywhere, now I know why I have a playard. I think Aaron crawled today, not far, but like a few strides. I caught a quick glimpse in the reflection of the fireplace, but he didn't do it again. He's so sneaky! After lunch we went up to meet up with Scott and his dad at BJ's. FYI at BJ's they have a new pack of Pampers Cruisers that is 198 in a pack.
Tomorrow we are going to Magic Kingdom with the group. Hopefully they let us park somewhat close so we aren't worn out before we even get to the gate. I love having the annual pass, it's just so conveinent. It reminds me of when Scott still worked there and had the maingate and I could just go whenever I wanted.
Well that's about it, hope all is well with you!

Sunday's Farmers Market

We went to the farmers market in Celebration today and met up with Lani and company, April (minus the triplets) and Scott's parents. We even ran into our friends Tracy and her son Chase. You couldn't ask for better weather than today, it was mid 70s and perfect. We bought a lot of fruit and veggies from the local farmer that is certified organic. Lani was telling me that it is better to buy local and organic because overseas they have no standards per say on the use of pesticide. Gross....
We stayed and had lunch at the cafe with Scott's parents. Aaron passed out, after having a wonderful meltdown (don't mess with the boys schedule!) and Jill fell asleep mid bottle, but of course managed to wake up when our food came. It's amazing how they know when you're about to eat.
And the huge accomplishment of the day....drum roll please....I finally pulled all my maternity clothing out of my closet and have it ready to be packed up. WOO! Not that I've worn any of it lately, but you know you just don't want to take it out of the closet, too much work sometimes. But I'm super pumped that it's gone and my closet is all reorganized. Now if I could just fit into more of my old clothes...*sigh* that's a whole different blog.
Jill is starting to understand the concept of "No" and has learned the deep sigh that all children do when they hear it. Awesome...
And in Aaron news...he's a sneaky one. He keeps ending up on the other side of the playard, and I know he's not just scooting over there, it happens way to fast. I have to find an angle to be able to watch him without him being able to see me. Yes, it has to be a covert operation, otherwise he won't do it.
That's about it over here, hope all is well with you!

Healthy Mom and Baby...I mean Babies :)

We went to the Healthy Mom and Baby event at Whole Foods today with Lani, Lily, Ben and Cameron. It was neat, they had a few tables set up in the back with all the organic items that they carry for babies. Plus, we got a goodie bag from Whole Foods! After that we walked around the Sand Lake farmers market. It was ok, I like the one in Celebration better, there is more of a selection. We're heading that way tomorrow morning with Lani and April. I'm really trying to do more organic and eco-friendly purchasing this year, it's my big new years resolution. I've gotten a lot of tips from Sara Snow's website (www.sarasnow.com). If you watch Jon and Kate Plus 8 she was on an episode. When you really look at things and see just how much stuff is put into the food you eat you would definitely go organic, or at least local. That's about it over here, hope all is well with you!

TGIF!

I think last week was God's way of testing my patience as a mother, and this week He just really wanted to mess with my mind. I swear, this week has just been bizarre! First off the weather has been just insane. Yeah, I do expect cooler weather in the winter months, obviously, but not to the point that we need to use an ice scraper on the car or wear our Columbia coats. Then, the other night around 2 am I hear "I love you!" and "That's my belly button!". It was the Laugh and Learn puppy in the playroom. Talk about creepy! That thing is getting shut off every night from now on. Then Aaron is just being super slick with everything, he sat up yesterday by himself, but I didn't believe that he did, I thought I was seeing things. Scott confirmed it though, so I haven't totally lost my mind! Then this morning I walk in the playroom after getting some coffee and there's Aaron standing straight up and balancing on the jungle. AH! All I have to say is thank God it's Friday! Hope your Friday goes well!

Thanksgiving Thursday

>>

This week is just getting crazier and crazier, but here is my list of things to be thankful for this week...

I'm thankful...

1) That we are done eating the jarred meat! Oh my goodness, have you smelled this stuff?! I know why my son gagged the first time, it's gross!

2) That we have a new pastor and that he is settling in well within the parish. And hopefully he had a stuffy nose or something when he met us (read previous blogs to find out why).

3) That everything from today turned out ok and nothing was too serious. I'm not going to go into it, because I don't want anyone to be embarrassed, but I will say, next time you want us to come over just call silly! ;)

4) For Baby Einstein Dvd's. Oh what a welcomed 30 minutes! Especially the Language Nursery and Baby's First Sounds (the kids laugh almost every time something is in French).

5) For farmers markets! We did some quick math and it turns out we save almost half by buying there every Sunday. Plus it is so much better for the environment, and we're helping local growers. And I mean who has better sweet corn than Zellwood and better strawberries than Plant City???

6) For Anderson Cooper's coverage of the Inaugration. I mean, honestly, I was pretty into the whole event, but CNN choosing good old silver fox Cooper was just the icing on the cake!

7) That we now have a new President who is awesome! I won't say anymore, I promised not to.

8) For Nicole starting this whole Thanksgiving Thursday thing, it's awesome and makes you feel awesome after you do it!

I hope you have a lot to be thankful for too! Make sure you visit Nicole over at What a trip to see what she's thankful for!

Good chilly morning!

Well it is cold here, and I mean cold, almost Chicago cold. There is frost and ice outside, and Scott left for work in the coat he only wears in Chicago. Yeah, it's cold....I'm still working on my Thanksgiving Thursday list, but here is a video of the kids from a few weeks ago playing. Hope you have a good day!

And the battle continues

For your viewing enjoyment, here is another clip of Jill chasing Morgan...

Anyway, it was pretty cold here today. Honestly, it was! Colorado was warmer than we were, yeah, Colorado! So we pretty much stayed in all day, but we did go to have lunch with Scott. Aaron loves all the attention he gets from the waitresses! Not too sure what we are going to do tomorrow yet, we may go to Disney again. Hope all is well with you!

Obamarama

My Dad has always told me there are three things that you never talk about in public, religion, money and politics. However, I think today we can talk politics, right? I know this blog is mainly about my kids and their daily life, but today it's going to be about the amazing event that occurred at noon. How awesome is it that we live in today's world? Today is a huge testament to how far we as a nation have come, and how great our future will be. If you did not get to watch President Obama's speech, go to CNN and watch it or read the transcript. It was amazing, powerful and just what we need. So here's to four years of change, in a good way, just what we need!

Was that a wing?

We went to EPCOT today with Lani, Lily, Ben and Cameron. We couldn't ask for better weather. We only made it around once, Aaron had a meltdown once we hit Morocco and continued screaming until Canada on the second loop around. He made a good horn though, people definitely got out of the way. However, the screaming didn't help get rid of the crazy seagulls that were swarming around. Oh my gosh, they were horrible, I think I felt a wing tip hit me. All in all though it was a really great day! Ok, well I have to clean up the soap suds in the kitchen. Yeah apparently one of the dishes had dish soap on it and now I have suds on my floor. Just another manic Monday, right? Hope all is well with you!

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday!

So this morning started off about as weird as it does any morning when Jill has on her two piece pajamas. Scott and I usually take bets on if the pants are still on, or if she is using them as a blanket. Well, we both lost that bet, Jill's pants were on but her arm was completely out of the sleeve and that part of the shirt was around her neck. So, that's how the day started. Yeah...
We went out to the farmer's market again in Celebration. Scott's parents came with us too and I think they really enjoyed it. We went a lot earlier this time and there was a much better selection. Plus we stopped at the little French bakery next to it, and yummy, had a croque monsieur, oh it was so good!
We also met 0ur new pastor today, Father Jean Desir. I think he was a little overwhelmed with all the people. I have a feeling he might remember us though, Aaron took a giant, and I mean giant, poop right as we got there. Of course I didn't take a diaper bag with me because, why would I need that if we only live right down the road and we just changed him? Silly Mommy! And of course, everyone wanted to chat us up and hold the kids, which is great, just not when I have a super smelly one. But he seems like a super nice priest. He's the total opposite of Father Steve, which isn't a bad thing. It'll be interesting to see how everything pans out.
That's about it over here, hope all is well with you!

No crying zone

It was Florida cold yesterday. I found that I can't say it was just cold anymore because I'm reminded that it's -525 or whatever it is in Chicago :) We pretty much just hung out around the house, and I'm kind of glad we did. For some reason or another the morning was just rough. Both kids were really fussy, and even after a morning nap were still fussy. Thank God for Baby Einstein though, that holds their attention long enough for me to eat and do whatever else I need to do. They really like the Baby's First Sounds, and I've noticed them mimicking it, so yay!
I think today is going to be pretty low key, I have no idea. All I know is that tonight I am going to be a baking machine! Tomorrow we have a welcoming party for our new pastor, so the ladies of the parish were asked to bake. FYI baking is my favorite thing to do. I am the queen of the mix master, so anytime I get to use it, watch out!
That's pretty much it around here, hope all is well with you and that you have a wonderful day!

Yesterday's happenings...

Yesterday we went to Downtown Disney with Lani, Lily, Ben, Cameron, April, Hunter, Hadden and Hendrix. It was pretty cold, and we definitely didn't take into account that there is a huge body of water right there, whoops! It was a good walk though, we walked all of the West Side, Pleasure Island, Marketplace and then looped through Saratoga Springs. What made it even better was that there were hardly any people there, so no dumb questions! Well, not as many I should say.
It's supposed to be cooler today, so I think we're just going to lay low. Hopefully the kids will really nap for me today. Jill is on this new kick where all she needs is a 45 minute nap, well she thinks that's all she needs. Yesterday she didn't even nap at all, I wanted to pull out my hair. Here's hoping, right? Hope you have a great day!
