Who are you talking to???

I think I spent 90% of my day on the phone, or emailing family, seriously. Scott took the kiddos this morning to go with him to get new work shoes, so I had the whole house to myself. I have to say it was a little unsettling. It was so quiet! I had no idea what to do with myself, so I'm glad I spent most of it on the phone :)

I've been getting back into genealogy and like I mentioned on Thanksgiving Thursday I found some cousins I never knew I had. We've been emailing family photos back and forth so I scanned over a photo that I had of my Great Grandmother. Jill saw the photo and took off running with it, frame and all. Then she proceeded to have a 15 minute conversation with the photo, luckily we didn't hear any other voices.

See, she wouldn't even share the photo with Aaron, that's her Great Great Grandma!

Today we Skyped with my parents, which the kiddos LOVED! Of course they didn't do anything while we were on the phone, just stared at the computer and blew kisses. It was pretty funny watching my parents who are ummm technologically challenged at times Skype with the kiddos. My sister said she could hear them down the hallway while she was in the laundry room, clear as day. The rest of the afternoon Jill kept walking over to the computer to see if she could see Busia and DziaDzio. It was pretty cute!

Nothing else really happened today, hope you had a great weekend!

Multiples and More Question of the Week

This week's question is:

What is your favorite children's book?

I was quite the bookworm growing up. I loved having stories read to me and loved reading on my own. I did the summer reading program pretty much every year at my library, if that gives you a clue on how much I read. It was hard to come up with a favorite, so I made a list of 5, in no particular order:

Well at least the floor liked dinner...

I made the kiddos a new dinner last night and I was super proud of myself because it looked at sounded great! It was bowtie pasta with roasted tomatoes, and kalamata olives. Scott and I both tried it before the kids did and loved it! I was so excited to give it to the kids and watch them devour it.

Scott and I got them in their seats, all strapped in and ready to go. *Yay!* I put the delicious dinner down and waited for them scarf it down. And waited...and waited...and waited....

They wouldn't even touch it, well except to throw it off their trays. Awesome! Good thing I had a fresh batch of turkey meatballs in the oven for them to eat instead. Sigh...

That's all that's new to report over here...enjoy the video of the kiddos from this morning!

Sweet chocolaty buttery goodness...

I'm not the kind of person that craves chocolate, I really don't, I tend to like saltier treats and Scott is the one with the sweet tooth. So one night while I was *ahem* working I found Chocolate.com and noticed that they have a program where you can blog for chocolate. Sold! I figured Scott could eat the goodies and write about it, giving me a night off.

I had my chocolaty goodness within three days. I kid you not the doorbell sounded extra cheerful when the UPS man came! Scott and I practically ran each other down trying to get to the package first. Guess who won? That's right, me! The scene that followed was very similar to Christmas when you were like 4 years old. Paper flew from the box and I was ripping at the bubble wrap that surround the goods. There it was....*cue the choirs of Angels*

Hello lover...

It's like they knew exactly what kind of chocolate I will eat! I received the Edinburgh cookie from Elsylee Galetes Artesanals, which is a chocolate shortbread. I *heart* shortbread and was excited to get to try this product. After dinner Scott and I broke open the package. After the first buttery delicious bite I debated whether or not to shove them all in my mouth at once so Scott couldn't have anymore, isn't that horrible?!

But in all seriousness these are some of the best cookies I have ever put in my mouth. If they were sold in bulk I would totally buy a truck load and park my happy butt on the couch and eat every single last one. Yeah yeah I would share with Scott too. Click here to check out what other cookies Elsylee Galetes Artesanals offers, and here to see what else is on Chocolate.com.

Happy National Boycott Nap Day!

Today was our first day without Scott home. *Cue the choirs of angels* I mean....ummm...anyway :)

Today was also a national holiday that I, and many other MoM's, missed the memo on. In case you didn't know, today was national "Boycott Nap Day". You didn't get the memo either??? Jill decided that she did not need a morning nap, at all. Yay! Happy Boycott Nap Day to me! Then after lunch and some chillaxin' time we tried for the afternoon nap. Yeah, Aaron decided this was his time to celebrate National Boycott Nap Day. YAHOO! The good thing that came out him not napping was this gem:

Hehehehe

Well apparently Aaron's Valet service woke up the princess from her nap way too early. Naturally since she was woken up before she wanted to wake up everything was overly dramatic. She lost her balance, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Aaron blocked her view of The Wiggles, AHHHHHHHHHHHH! Joy joy joy!!! Happy National Boycott Nap Day!

Here are some other photos from our day:
Hope you enjoyed your holiday as well :)

Play date and jam session

We had a play date today at Amaya Papaya with some of our twin and triplet friends. I had never been to this place before, but the website looked really awesome so I was excited to try it. The place was really cool! Everything in the room is for children 5 and under, which is perfect! It is so hard to find places where the "big kids" won't trample the little ones. Here are some pictures from our day:Fun, huh?! Long story short after an hour and a half Jill finally reached for me, put her head on my shoulder and I knew it was time to go. They slept from the moment we pulled out to the moment we got home.

And before I forget, remember how I said Jill loves Dave Matthews Band??? Here's proof....

Hope you had a great Monday!

Multiples and More Question of the Week and then some!

This week's question is:

What is your favorite back to school memory?

Since my kiddos are still too young for school I'll talk about when I was in school (of course in a few years my children will probably ask if there were dinosaurs...sigh). I have to say my favorite memory was going shoe shopping with my Mom. We always went to the same store, and it was definitely a big deal. I remember exactly how that store looked, and how it smelled to this day. I remember the coolest thing about that place was there were mirrors close to the floor so you could see your shoes and how they looked. One year I got saddle shoes, and I thought I was the coolest kid ever because my Mom used to wear shoes like that when she went to school.

In other news....

The kiddos are learning more signs. I keep meaning to post this, but somehow always forget. I now have to make myself a list throughout the day so I know what I need to mention, I'm seriously getting old. Anyway, the kiddos now sign "more", which is very exciting! Aaron went up to the gate the other day, signed "more" to have another Nilla wafer and I was just so proud of him I had to give it to him, even though he had just had a few. Well the stinker then drops in on the floor for Morgan! Sneaky kid! Jill has been doing "more" for a while now, but sometimes it's hard to tell if she's doing "more" or "ball" since they are similar. But here are the signs they do now:
Jill: Dog (her favorite), Bear, More, Ball and Cold
Aaron: Dog and More

I'm sure Aaron does more signs, I just haven't picked up on it yet. They are also talking a lot more. Jill can say: Dog, Dadda, Mama, What's that, hi, boom, stomp, and down. Again, I'm totally positive there are more words in there somewhere, I just can't figure out what they are. Aaron can say: Dadda, Mama, and hi. Aaron's a pretty quiet kid, but with Jill for a sister he doesn't really have a choice. We're trying to get him to talk more, well I shouldn't say talk more, say more actual words. He babbles all the time, just not actual words. The doctor didn't seem too concerned at the last appointment, she said boys tend to talk more later on.

Mimi and PawPaw came over last night so Scott and I could go to church. We do get a little flack for not bringing the kids, but I know my kids and I know they will just want to run up and down the aisle and talk the whole time. Until there is a back room where the kids can be, we probably won't be bringing them. Our Pastor is on vacation so we had a visiting priest, who we've had before (the last time I saw him I was super pregnant with the kiddos which he thought was awesome, he even blessed my belly). Father Gil is pretty cool, he has a way of explaining things that just makes sense. At the Easter mass two years ago he taught us that Easter eggs are like the tomb where Jesus was laid to rest and that the bunny is like the Apostle's running to tell everyone that Jesus had risen. Good stuff, huh? Last night he explained the meaning behind some of the prayers we say and it was just nice to hear it explained. The Catholic faith is something I have known my whole life, so I've never questioned why we say or do certain things. It's nice to have it explained again.

The kiddos kept Mimi and PawPaw entertained the whole time we were gone. I usually keep the iPod on during the day and the kids love it! Jill has two favorite songs on there, and they must always be played. The songs are Josh Turner's "Firecracker" and Dave Matthews Band "Why I Am". Jill had Mimi and PawPaw laughing at her super sweet dance moves!

The kiddos are also really into the Fresh Beat Band (or the artists formally known as the Jump Arounds). Whenever they come on Noggin they immediately stop what they are doing and start dancing along with them. Whoever thought that group up is a genius and I salute you.

Well I should probably stop typing, this post is getting pretty long. Here are some pictures of the kiddos from yesterday and today:
Hope you're having a great day!

Busy morning!

Good morning everyone! This morning has already been a busy one. Jill found the remote to the TV and started changing the channels. Apparently watching red snappers being weighed in on ESPN2 is way more interesting than Handy Manny. Who knew?

The kiddos got into a little "tiff" this morning over the chair. Aaron wanted to push it down the hall and Jill wanted to sit on it. Luckily Jill decided that pushing the chair down the hallway was much more fun than just sitting on it, so nobody got hit or shoved or pushed down. Yahoo! Here's some video of them playing:

This is a photo from the other day, Scott and Jill were watching the finale of Top Chef Masters, clearly they both enjoyed it :)

And here are some photos from this morning. Aaron was watching Scott get ready for his run and Jill was just excited to be on her pony:

Hope you're having a great morning!

Girl's Day and a Cable Guy

I got to have a girls day with Mimi today! We went to the Carter's store because they are having their 50% off sale and we had a coupon for an additional 20% off. The only bummer was that the big clearance section was only sizes newborn-18 months. Sigh...

Jill made out like a total bandit because the store is 75% girls clothing. I cannot wait for fall to come so she can wear all of those adorable outfits! Poor Aaron's size (2t in case you were wondering) is only 2% of the store, and that's being generous. But he actually got a good amount of clothes, he's going to look like such a little man!

After shopping we went for lunch at Olive Garden, it was like old times! Mimi and I used to go to lunch all the time before the kiddos were born and Olive Garden was one of our favorites. There is nothing like a salad, basket of bread sticks and pasta fagioli. Mmmmmm!

When I got home the guy from Brighthouse was here to set up cable for the kiddos new TV. I really felt bad for the guy thought. Of course we wanted it in the least convenient location for him. Our office already has a cable jack, but it's being used for our modem and they say that if you hook the cable up to it as well then it messes up your signal. Possibly true, possibly a way to make an extra $60, I'm going with the latter on this one. Anyway, the guy comes out, sees the location problem and decides to drill another whole from the outside of our house inside (YAY! Sigh...). Well during the drilling process the heavens opened and we got on of our lovely afternoon showers. I'm sorry, not shower, torrential downpour. This guy was a trooper though and worked through the storm, which the kids loved because they got to watch the rain fall and some funny man in a bright yellow coat drill a whole in their house. So now they have cable for their TV! Yay!

Other than that not much happened today. Hope your day was great!

Thanksgiving Thursday and our trip to the Aquarium

>>

Time for Thanksgiving Thursday! This week I am thankful for...
  • Scott's test going well today!
  • Our annual pass to the Aquarium. It definitely makes for a good day trip!
  • Project Runway being back! Yahoo!!!
  • Our supermarket trying to bring in new business by giving us $10 off coupons.
  • Scott finally programming my garage door opener in the car.
  • Everyone around us who supports us.
  • Tylenol PM, it's the only way I sleep when someone (*cough* *cough* SCOTT) gets on their snoring kicks.

So like I said before we went to the Florida Aquarium yesterday with the kiddos. We definitely needed to get out of the house, but needed something to do indoors. Luckily the Aquarium isn't that far away so we headed out after lunch.

When we got off the escalator Jill immediately started pointing at saying "What's that!?" and Aaron couldn't wait to get down and run around. Jill at least stopped to look at the fish, but Aaron was off and running. Unless I was holding him, he didn't see any fish.

Aaron and I took off ahead of Scott and Jill and at one point I heard "Did you see that little girl go after that bird?" I had to turn around, and just as I feared, the only little girl anywhere near the bird in question was Jill. Sigh....at least the bird is used to precocious children, right? And thankful there were no staff members around to kindly escort us out.

Here are some photos from our day....
The last photo is Aaron going through the fog curtain that they have. Clearly, he was not a fan.

Here is a video of Aaron playing in Jill's Cozy Coupe after we got home:

Hope you're having a great day!

Way back When-esday: Look at those smiles!

Dateline: August 2008

The kiddos got these onesies from my sister Cathy at our baby shower, they say "My Aunt Rocks!" So true :)
This is honestly my most favorite photo of the kiddos to date. I love the smiles, the drool and their bald little heads :)

I'm sorry what was that word?

I had a board meeting tonight for our local MoM's group and while I was heading there I stopped to get something to drink at the gas station. Seriously, this is some of the finest people watching around. I wasn't even out of my car yet when it happened. I seriously couldn't get out fast enough to hear what the woman (super pregnant by the way) was yelling across the gas station at her husband. Now I will warn you, you may possibly lose some brain cells while reading what she said....you have been warned.

So I jump out of my car (quite literally I was that excited to hear what was going to be said) and slowly close the door. Then super pregnant lady yells, "Did it turneddid on? HUH??? Hey! Did it turneddid on yet?" Oh I wish that was a typo. Turneddid? Where does one learn such a word? What does this word mean? OHHHHHH did you mean, "Did it turn it on?" Again, sorry you lost some brain cells, but it gets better.

I get inside, grab my beverage, and head to check out. Hmmm problem, no cashiers....at all. Oh wait, is that who was outside sweeping the sidewalk while watching the pregnant woman scream across the gas station? Yup, that would be them. So there's about 4 of us in line when the preggers finally comes in with the cashiers. So people are moving through quickly (very nice) and then preggers with her 42 different pieces of hard candy and gum hits the counter. "Can I get $5 on pump 5?" Whoa wait. You hadn't paid yet and were wondering why the pump didn't turn on???? Noooooooooooooooooooooooooo! This is not possible!

I wonder how many brain cells I lost from typing this experience. And just think folks she's having a baby, maybe a future Senator or House Rep? Fingers crossed :)

Monday Monday....

We didn't really do much today. I had some errands to run, so Scott and the kiddos just hung out. I did make the kids a super yummy breakfast though! They had little omelets with veggie sausage and cheese. Aaron devoured them. I made four and he ate three of the four. Yeah.... Jill ate enough to get some banana. She's still going through her fruitarian phase.

The kids are into dancing now too, like all the time, and not well. I seriously wonder where they got their dance moves from, I hope it's not Scott or I. Aaron bops up and down and makes ape noises and Jill....well Jill looks like a hippie at Woodstock with a hint of Napoleon Dynamite. Sigh...

The kids are also getting better at sitting at their table and chairs, AND they sit nice together! Aaron likes to sit on his feet though and hasn't quite grasped the fact that if he doesn't sit on his butt and leans back he'll fall flat on his face. I hope our emergency insurance covers that ER visit when it happens. Jill learned a new way to sit, see...

Hope you had a great Monday!

Homemade conditioner?

I tried some new foods with the kiddos today. They had avocado for the first time and LOVED it! Aaron could not get enough of it! Then again maybe I shouldn't get so excited, Aaron will eat just about anything. Jill liked it a lot too, but really liked mashing it into her hair. Did you know when you mash avocado into your hair it makes your hair sticky and crusty? Fun! She was very proud of herself. See...

It was pretty warm this afternoon so we hung out inside. Jill is LOVING the new books Auntie Cathy sent over and has been walking around with the same one since Friday. That book is great though because there are a ton of photos in the book so it helps us with signing. Jill can now sign ball, well....kinda. Ball and more look a lot alike so she does a combination of the two. It makes sense, I promise!

Aaron is doling out kisses lately. It's so cute, he walks right up to you and slobbers all over you. It'll be nice to get a kiss without all the drool though. Seriously, the drool situation is out of control! The sooner these teeth come in the better! Here are some other photos and video from the afternoon....

Scott made dinner tonight, like the whole dinner, sides and everything! Sweetbay had country style pork ribs on sale for 99 cents a pound so that's what we had. Scott made his own BBQ sauce and everything for them! Dinner was super yummy, when I find out where he got the recipe for the sauce I'll post it here!
Hope you had a great Sunday! Don't forget to answer the question of the week at Multiples and More!

Multiples and More Question of the Week

This week's question is: What are the top ten things on your bucket list?

Hmmmm....well let's see, I'm hoping I have a lot of time on this one, but here goes:

  1. Visit the South of France and eat lots of cheese and drink lots of wine.
  2. Own a Diane Von Furstenburg wrap dress. I don't know why, but I have always loved the look of these dresses, like this one:
  3. To keep with fashion, before I croak, I would love to have a Hermes Kelly bag (with a beautiful scarf tied around it as well!) in red.
  4. Go to mass in Vatican City and see the Pope, even if it's just from far away.
  5. Go to the Super Bowl
  6. See a musical on Broadway
  7. Take a photography class so I can learn to take better photos of the kiddos
  8. Take a cooking class, or classes, to learn about things I've always wanted to make
  9. Have my wedding vows renewed in the Catholic Church so my marriage is recognized by the Church
  10. Take another big family vacation with my whole family. Haven't done that since my senior year of high school (sorry no photo for this one!)
So what's on your bucket list? Head to Multiples and More to link up your blog, or if you don't have one leave a comment with your list!
