Kids always have a certain type of music that they absolutely love and will stop everything they are doing to dance/sing a long. While I was pregnant Aaron loved heavy metal, mainly Metallica, mainly the song Enter Sandman (messed up, right?), Jill my free spirit on the other hand loved Sublime, mainly the song What I got (better than Enter Sandman at least). When they were newbies they loved listening to country station on the TV rather than listening to the classical music on their swings. Then we were over the country and became fans of nature sounds, that was great, I felt like I had to pee every five seconds, but they were happy. Then we were fans of Beatles (YES YES YES) lullabies. Now that they are toddlers anything from Sesame Street or the Wiggles will make them "break it down" if you will. But now, my lovely daughter, she has a fascination with Ladysmith Black Mambazo. For real! The love affair started with Sesame Street's 25th musical celebration....
I passed this little nugget onto my sister Cathy and she sent me this...
I had no sooner hit play and Jill saw Ladysmith Black Mambazo on my computer and was in my lap dancing along to the song. Maybe this means I have a highly cultured child?
And what's Aaron's favorite? Well he'll dance to Dave Matthews Band (YES YES YES), and he laughs when the Andrews Sisters come on, but other than that he is quite content with Sesame Street and the Wiggles.
Whoops gotta run, apparently a room full of toys isn't enough and they need to have a knock down drag out over the same toy!

Let the baby proofing begin!
Scott and I went to Babies R Us yesterday to get some baby proofing stuff for the office, excuse me, playroom. I kind of feel like we found everything but what we really needed. We were able to get the padding for the window ledge, not enough though, and power strip covers, but apparently they don't make a phone jack cover. Why would I need a phone jack cover you ask? Because some genius decided to put one practically on the ground in the office. So if anyone knows if this exists or has any suggestions that would be awesome. If all else fails I'm going to use Lani's suggestion of clear packing tape.
In other news, Scott is officially hunting for a job, and that's all I can really say about that.
So that's about it right now. We have a some plans today, so I'm sure I will have a ton to report tonight. Have a great Tuesday!

Product Review: MobiCam AV
For the past week now I've been using the MobiCam AV video monitor in the kiddos room thanks to Andrea for Mobi! I'm going to be writing a more detailed review on Multiples and More soon, but I thought I'd give this product a quick shout out on here first. Here's what the camera looks like...
Pretty cool, huh? The camera fits virtually anywhere, and you can move the lens in pretty much any direction that you need. I can capture the entire nursery on this camera and the picture is insanely good. It's not gritty and does not wave in and out which I was concerned about. Another plus is that when the room is dark the camera automatically switches to night vision. I'm not going lie, it is semi-creepy when you see four glowing eyes looking around the room.
Another great feature on the camera is that you can set it to only turn on when there is a noise in the room. I love this feature because it helps save the battery on the monitor. Plus, you immediately notice the monitor when the screen illuminates, that way you don't just tune it out.
I really wish I would have had this monitor when the kiddos were really little, well I probably would have had two when they were really little. It would have saved a ton of trips in the nursery to check on them!
Thanks again Andrea for sending this over! Be sure to check out Multiples and More when we do our review!

Family visits!
It's been a crazy few days, to say the least... Scott's family is in town for the next 10 or so days, we haven't seen them in a while, so it's been great to catch up and hang out. We just went up to Mimi and PawPaw's yesterday to swim and relax. The kiddos got some cute presents from Sandy, Michael and Kaitlyn. Aaron got a Little Tikes lawn mower and Jill got a baby stroller (the exact one I was looking at getting her!). We had a fun time, and Uncle Michael had the kids laughing a ton! Michael and Aaron now make monkey noises at each other, which they both think is hysterical. Jill has found a new friend in Kaitlyn and seems to be attached to her hip.
We went to the farmers market this morning. It was really bare. I don't know if it's because the fourth is this week or what, but there were hardly any vendors there. After that we stopped over at Mimi's Cafe to have some lunch and now we're just waiting for the kiddos to finish napping.
Here are some new photos from the past few days...

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Question of the Week

This weeks question is where are the best vacations for large families?
Honestly, Scott and I have only taken one vacation with the kiddos and that was to Chicago for family Christmas this past year. It was quite an adventure to say the least. We ended up flying and carrying both carseats on the plane. We were lucky though because that was really the only large thing we had to bring, and my parents picked up all of our other supplies. Chicago is a great city (and I'm not just saying that because I'm from there) and there is a ton to do! There are several museums, zoos, theaters, art galleries and restaurants. If you can't find it in Chicago, I don't know where else you would find it.

Scott and I also spend a lot of time at Disney World with the kids, especially since my family is down here pretty much every other month. Disney is expensive though, but if it is something that you plan for it can be a ton of fun!
Be sure to participate over at Multiples and More!

So it's been a while....
You would think I've been super busy over here, but no not really. I think Aaron is finally over the plague, thank goodness! He is still super whining though, but it feels like all 4 molars are pushing through. Yikes! Jill, well....Jill has been Jill. I love her, but boy is she rotten! Instead of napping she waves at the new video monitor and talks to me. And, she knows her brother hasn't been feeling all that well, but that hasn't stopped her from tormenting the poor kid.
I'm toying with the idea of selling the playzone and just babyproofing that area of the house hardcore. The playzone was great when they were really small and just starting to move around, but now that they want to walk all over, it serves no purpose. I have a lot of work to do in that area though before I can even dream of selling it. We have marble-esque ledges on the windows and I can just see them turning blood red if I don't pad them. I also have to cover our phone jack and the power strip. Has anyone seen a double power strip cover, you know for the really big ones? If so please tell me where you found them! I would hate to switch everything over onto two strips and lose an outlet.
Scott's sister, brother in law and niece are in town for the next 10 (I think?) days. We haven't seen them in 4 years, so it will be nice to catch up and visit with them. It sucks though because it has been so hot, I just don't know what all we're going to do.
We met with the insurance rep from the Knights of Columbus the other night (for 3 hours by the way). I knew we got a lot of benefits with Scott becoming a Knight but I had no idea how many there actually were! They are such a great organization and I am so glad that Scott has become a part of it!

Thanksgiving Thursday
- The plague almost being over. Aaron still has some snot, and when I say some I mean a leaky faucet type drip combined with random bubbles, and a little bit of a cough. Mine is almost gone, I'm still really congested and have random cough "attacks". I thought that going out into civilization would help this problem, but no it made it worse. So no playdates yet :(
- BJ's finally opening down the road from us. Talk about making my life a million times easier!
- the fact that I have very intelligent children. I know I don't normally look at it this way, but all the crazy things they do that make me insane are actually a good thing. Well maybe if I keep telling myself that...
- the new MobiCam I got yesterday. In a word....AWESOME!
- Scott becoming a full fledged 1st degree in the Knights of Columbus. I am so proud of you Scott, and it is a huge honor!
- great friends who, whenever there is a crisis with someone, will immediately say that person is just jealous that you're not fat and that they are. I know it's not nice, but you know you have a good friend when that is the first thing they say.
- PawPaw rearranging his schedule to come down and fix the catastrophe in the bathroom.
- Mimi and PawPaw watching the kids so Scott and I could go to church on Sunday and be reminded by Fr. Jean that we hadn't been there in a while.
Hope you had a great week! Be sure to play along with Nicole at What a trip!

Way back When-esday: First visit
Dateline: June 2008Where: Saratoga Springs resort
This is the first time Aaron and Jill met Auntie Cathy (sorry I didn't get a picture of her with them) and Lorren. They were in town, with Lorren's friend Meghan, for a quick trip. The company my sister works for usually has a conference down here once a year, so we got to spend a few days with them. Like Lorren's sunburn???
Play along with Cheryl at Twinfatuation!
**********************************************************************************
Today was another hot one. We did go out though and meet up with Scott and PawPaw for lunch. It was nice to be among civilization again! With the nasty cold we have all had we really haven't gone much of anywhere.
I got a super special box in the mail today from a friend of mine who works for Mobi technologies. I get to try their Mobi Cam, Tykelight Glomate and GPS mount. I can honestly say I think Scott was more excited about the camera than I was, and I was really excited! So far it is the coolest piece of technology ever! I wish we had this when the kids were younger too! I'll have a review up soon on here as well as the multiples blog.
Hope you've been having a great day as well!
The not very good bad day cont.
This is laughable now, but yesterday it was far from laughable. My daughter, the angel, at nap time decided she did not need one. So what does my angel do? Shoves her finger down her throat to make herself throw up! She was so proud of herself too when I came running in to get her. Sigh...I've got a problem on my hands...
Just had to share that real quick!

Amanda and the horrible not very good bad day
You ever have those days when you are wide awake at 3 am and realize at that moment your day is probably going to suck. Yup, that's today. I've pretty much been up since 3 am, it's awesome. We had a really bad storm roll through which woke me up amongst other things. The kids started out ok first thing this morning, and then it was like the gates of hell swung open (and I am not exaggerating by any means). I got the kids down for their naps, went to take a shower and noticed the water was still running a little. Hmm that's weird. So after I showered and went to shut off the water, funny thing happened, the water wouldn't shut off. Thankfully PawPaw came down and fixed the problem, apparently the inside of the knob was worn out and needed to be replaced, see... (Please excuse the hard water stains)
During this time Morgan decides to bark to the high heavens and the kids woke up (after only an hour nap). Awesome...then the plate I made my lunch on broke. Yup, granted I did drop it on the floor, carpet to be exact, but these plates bite anyway. I got them for our wedding from Crate and Barrel and have not been pleased with them, they really do not stand the test of time. See...
A good part of the day thus far is the kids scarfed down lunch and were playing together nicely. Too nice actually, and too quiet. I found them in their room...

Look what Jill learned how to do! Open the cabinet! Yay!!!! She could have cared less that I caught her, but Aaron took off down the hall, with the diaper genie refills that he took...
They're down for naps right now, even though I can hear them talking and switching the light on and off. Hopefully they will sleep for me. And to think, it's only 1 pm! Ahhhh just another day in paradise, right???

Where's the dog?
The kids and I laid pretty low today, it was over 100 degrees outside (yuck!). Aaron was a definite cuddler for the majority of the day, especially in the afternoon, mainly because we decided we didn't need afternoon naps. Joy...
Aaron did learn a new trick, if you will, he can now make farting noises on my leg. And let me tell you. he is proud! He will sit there and keep doing that for like 5 minutes, it's disgusting! Not only is my leg covered in drool, it's also covered in snot! But, he thinks it's hilarious, and really it kind of is. So kudos to Aaron, you truly are a little boy!
Jill's obsession with the dog has reached an all time high. Morgan decided to hide out for a while by the sliding door, and Jill was not having it. She ran over to the makeshift gate (as you will see in a moment) and was signing/saying dog like crazy. Morgan wouldn't even turn around, she was probably thinking the same thing I was, "don't these kids need a nap or something? I know I do!". Here's the video of Jill signing, it's too cute!
I started reading a new magazine called Body and Soul (it's from Martha Stewart) and it's all about green living. It's pretty decent. It definitely has a lot of good green living tips and is very "zen". Some articles are a little too let's go hang with the Dali Lama for me, but all in all it's a pretty awesome magazine.
OH! And because my job is awesome and I get to try a ton of products, I got the new starter kit from Nellie's All Natural. Um, it's awesome! The new dryer balls are PVC free AND you can put the scented soy fragrance sticks in them so your clothes smell like lavender. It's awesome! We're actually going to give away a starter kit next week (I think) on the blog. I'll post the date a few days early on here so you know when to check it out.
That's all that's going on over here, hopefully the weather is semi-nice tomorrow. Oh, and in case you were wondering Jon and Kate filed for divorce and I think it's hilarious that it was leaked to the media before they could announce it on their show. Take that TLC! (I know that wasn't nice)

Father's Day
Father's Day was pretty low-key yesterday. Scott and I went to mass, while Mimi and PawPaw watched the kiddos, and then we really didn't do anything. Aaron still isn't 100% and wants to be held for the most part, plus it is just way too hot outside. At one point my car said it was 102 outside, seriously. I made Scott one of his favorites for dinner, Italian beef sandwiches with roasted potatoes. My au jus was not that great, it was more of a gravy, but the sandwiches were still super yummy! I cannot get over this heat though! I literally break a hard sweat walking to the mailbox and back, that's how hot it is. I have zero desire to experience August if it's this hot already. Maybe if I wiggle my nose it'll be November?
Hope you all had a great Father's day and are keeping cool (or if you're up North, dry).

Father's Day: What Makes Him a Great Dad?

Yay, welcome to the first of many posts related to the big project!!! Today's question of the week on Multiples and More is, "What makes your husband/father a great Dad?"
I'm going to start with Scott...

It is hard to pinpoint what makes Scott a great dad, he just is! Let me start by saying that Scott was terrified (to a point) of having kids. He had never really spent a lot of time around newborns and just wasn't too confident with the whole situation. If you would have asked him 3 years ago how many kids he wanted he would have said 1, maybe 2. That all changed at our first ultrasound when we found out we were having twins. He was great the whole pregnancy and even better once they were born! He was a natural! Scott took right to everything, and has continued to be right there every step of the way. My fondest memories of this first year with the kids is finding Scott with one of them asleep in his arms, or on his chest. I love the tender moments he has with them, and how excited they are to see him when he comes home from work. I know that this is just the beginning of great things to come!
And now, my Dad...
It's no secret, I am a Daddy's girl. I am the youngest of 6, and was a definite surprise to my parents, who were both in their 40s when they found out they were having me. My Dad was in the sheet metal industry as a shop superintendent. He worked long hours, but that's ok, he did what he had to do for our family, and I am so grateful for that. He always kissed me goodbye and told me he loved me in the morning before he left for work (didn't think I knew that, did you Dad?). He was just the best Dad a girl could ask for while growing up. I was even lucky enough to spend a lot of time with him my senior year of high school because he was retired by that point. He has always been my sounding board and my voice of reason, and for that I think he is a great father. I wish everyone could have a Dad like mine, even though he used to terrorize the guys I would bring home.Happy Father's Day everyone! Be sure to play along at Multiples and More!

Dear Jon & Kate and TLC,
I was on People's website yesterday and I don't know why I clicked on it, but I did... Apparently Jon and Kate have a "big announcement" on Monday's "very special" 1 hour episode (really 1 hour?!). I have been refraining from writing about them, but honestly I just have to say it...
I get it, it's hard dealing with the stress of multiples and trying to make your marriage work with all the stress, and my life is not on tv (thank God), but you can walk away. I highly doubt that TLC would make them stay in their contract with everything that is going on, that would just be cruel. And isn't this show supposed to be about life with 8 beautiful miracle children, not how many celebrities we know and how many free trips/gifts we can get? It is so hard to watch this show now. I loved the first seasons when they were fairly modest people that lived in a typical home raising all their children. You actually got to see what daily life was like with all of these kids. Now it is so hard to stomach. Here they are in this multi-million dollar home with nannies and all sorts of other helpers (bodyguards, really?) talking about how "Kate has to go to New York to promote this" or "Life is just so busy with all the press stuff we need to do". On one episode Kate even mentioned that the kids called her by the nanny's name, SERIOUSLY?! Am I the only one that sees the problem? I think it's great that now you have this money to TAKE CARE OF YOUR FAMILY, but enough is enough already! Shame on you TLC for allowing this family's demise play out on national TV. And shame on the companies that pay to advertise during that show! You are just as bad! And shame on you Jon and Kate for allowing this to continue. How about you think about your kids on this one?
Ok I'm done on that one, I don't want to say anything else...it might get really mean, but gosh that felt good to get out. I don't plan on watching Monday's or any other day's episode, I hope you join me.

Thanksgiving Thursday
A lot to be thankful for this week, so here we go! This week I am thankful for....
- Having a great husband who took care of the kiddos while I was sick!
- Waking up this morning feeling a little closer to my old self. Maybe this has finally worked itself out?
- The construction project next door looking like it is near completion. I think they are nailing on the last shingles (yeah at 7 am, seriously).
- My friends son responded well to chemo. He has had 2 of the 10 sessions and is doing fantastic, please keep him in your prayers!
- Alka Seltzer cold medicine, you rock.
- All the well wishes while I was sick!
- All the hugs from my kiddos, even though now I think those hugs were probably not a great idea (Aaron is starting to cough).
- Mimi and PawPaw taking Morgan to the vet for us, even though it made Jill mad.
- Morgan being a gentle puppy and letting the kids pet her whenever they want.
- Skype! Lani and I had a video call yesterday (yeah we only live 10 minutes away) about work and it was awesome, now if my parents could figure it out that would be even better!
- Sesame Street and Wiggles DVD's. They were lifesavers this week!
- Great blog friends who are excellent sounding boards and are always there to lend a helping hand!

I'm back...kind of
The last few days are a fog to say the least. I have no idea what I have, but I do know it bites, big time. It started in my chest with a nasty cough that burned, and now my nose is like a leaky faucet. It makes no sense! My poor nose is all red now, I look like Rudolph :(
Scott stayed home Monday and Tuesday to watch the kids so I could try and sleep it off. What would I do without him??? Unfortunately, Aaron started coughing tonight, so I need to watch him and make sure he doesn't have whatever this is.
Speaking of Aaron, the poor boy... We had a really REALLY bad storm come through last night and it woke him up. He was scared of the thunder/lightening (so was I) so he sat on the couch with us for awhile until the storm passed.
Jill can sign "more" now! I love watching her sign! It is just so adorable! Her (and Aaron's) favorite is dog though. Funny story about that, yesterday PawPaw came down to take Morgan to the vet and Jill was not having it! After they left she ran to the door and was crying and pounding on the door and signing dog. It literally took 5 minutes to finally calm her down. Seriously she doesn't get that upset when Scott and I leave, what does that say? Both kids were happen when Morgan came back and therefore did not need afternoon naps (that's logical, right?).
Here are some photos and video from the past few days...

Way back When-esday: I want to hold your hand
Date: July 2008I took a lot of the photos off of MiMi's camera this weekend, and this gem was on there! This was taken at MiMi and PawPaw's when the kids were 2 months old. Aunt Bettye and Cousin Karyn were visiting as well, it was the first time they got to see the kids actually, and we haven't seen them since, what's up with that?! This photo is so precious though because this was when they really started reaching out for each other and holding each others hand (it's like they knew from the beginning I was a Beatles fan and that all photos should have some tie in to a Beatles song).
I'm feeling a little better today, I'll have a big update later once the kiddos fall asleep. Hope all is well with you!

And the germs have been passed...
Sorry for no post yesterday. Jill is doing better, we actually didn't take her to the pediatrician because whatever it was she had was gone by Monday morning (of course, right?). However, now I have something and feel like poop. I'm very lucky to have a nice husband who is willing to stay home and pull my weight while I lay in bed and try and sleep this off. I'm going to try and get back into my daily routine today so that way Scott can go back to work tomorrow. I have to say though it is really hard to lay in bed and hear the kids outside the door. And it's even harder to not be able to give them a kiss when you see them:( Let's hope I kick this soon!

Splashing in a water wonderland!
This morning we went to the farmers market. It was OK, not spectacular. The past few weeks the organic couple haven't been there, which has been a little disappointing. Their produce is way better than the other stuff. Speaking of the other stuff, it wasn't that great, and I really didn't get a lot.
After naps Mimi and PawPaw came down and helped us set up the water wonderland in the backyard. The kids LOVED it! We had to take Jill out a few times because she was shivering, but overall they had a great time. Here are some photos and video from today...

Hope you had a great weekend!

Countdown to water fun!
So the big news of the day, I finally got a haircut and now look more like my super cute graphic. YAY!!! Ok, moving on...
Jill has this new thing (I say this everyday, don't I?) where if she wakes up before Aaron she has to sit outside the bedroom door and wait until he wakes up. And if she hears him she pounds on the door until I open it, see...

Our friends Paul and Carol stopped by for a quick visit to give the kids their birthday presents. After that we ran to Target since Walmart apparently doesn't carry children's Tylenol or baby wipes. Then we saw this....
Is that not the coolest thing you have ever seen?! So we got it for the kids, and by kids I mean me and Scott. Tomorrow is going to be like a water wonderland in our backyard, I cannot wait!!!

All stuffed up :(
I am so happy it's Friday, you have no idea! For some reason this week feels like it's been two weeks, anyone else feel like that? Anyway, yesterday we went and met Scott for lunch. The kids had a good time at the Ale House and learned how to high five. This is now our favorite thing to do, just so you know.
Jill hasn't been feeling all that great the past few days, she has a bit of a head cold and a slight cough. I'm hoping it's from teething and not something worse. We have an appointment at the doctor on Monday to see what's up though. I tried to make one for today, but the next available appointment was literally 30 minutes from the time I called and there is just no way I would have had all three of us dressed, out the door and checked in within that time. I am not superwoman.
No big plans for the weekend as of yet, we're going to play it by ear with Jill not feeling well. I did pick up a sprinkler for the kids to play with in the backyard. I'm really excited about it!
Seriously, doesn't that look like a ton of fun?! I also got them a kiddie pool which I will probably end up using for myself.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Thanksgiving Thursday
Usually I say I can't believe it's been a week already, but this week, yeah it seems like it's been a week. Nonetheless this week I am thankful for...
- The magical powers of Tylenol. The kiddos are teething right now (one front tooth and a molar) and the Tylenol is just making it bearable. Luckily this round hasn't required any orajel yet, so that's always good.
- The construction next door looking like it's almost finished. Fingers crossed
- Aaron being so even tempered and that he doesn't beat the ever living out of his sister. I am waiting for it though.
- Jill's love of books. I hope this one continues forever! She has a definite favorite and she will bring it over to me to read to her at least 2-3 times a day. She's actually walking around with it right now.
- Scott letting me sleep in this morning. That 45 minutes made all the difference in the world!
- Morgan being a very tolerant puppy. The kids are fascinated with her! Jill says and signs dog, and Aaron is now signing dog (not the right way, but close enough). They both run around patting their legs looking for Morgan, and if she's close enough they pet her. As long as they don't touch her feet Morgan will let them pet her as long as they want.
- The place mats I got from La Plates yesterday! We did a giveaway with them at the Multiples blog and Aaron and Jill were lucky enough to get a set as well! They are so stinking cute! I almost don't want them to eat off them ever.
- The glass not breaking from the picture that fell off the wall (see Mom always said.... for more details).
- My kids liking the table and chairs they have so much that they need to take the chairs everywhere with them. Apparently they make great carts, who knew?
- All the grandparents coming with us to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in December. I love Christmas at Disney, they always get it right, and the Christmas Party is just so stinking cute, I can't wait to see how the kids react!
- Scott officially becoming a Knight (Knights of Columbus) this Saturday. It is a huge honor and we are so proud of him!

Hard hats required...
Have I mentioned that my neighbors are adding onto their house? No? Well, they are, and mainly during the kids nap time. Did I say nap time? I meant close their eyes for 10 minutes and then peek out the windows to see what is going on, but let mommy think that we are sleeping time. So needless to say today was definitely one of those days, and I really don't have much to report. I did have something witty to say earlier, but can't seem to remember what it was. Those thoughts I'm afraid have been replaced with the Wiggles singing "Old Dan Tucker". Anyway, here's some video from the past few days....
Way back When-esday: First shots
Dateline: June 2008Age: 1 month
This was taken after their first set of shots, it was a horrible experience for me. I remember just wanting to cry (I still do) when they gave them their shots. The kids slept pretty much the entire day. Scott was a big help and stayed home with me to help out in case they got cranky. I still can't get over how tiny they were in these photos! I couldn't even imagine trying to hold both of them like that now!

Mom always said....
...don't play ball in the house! Right Scott? We were playing ball with the kids in the house and when Scott threw the ball at me this is what happened....
Where the photo ended up....

Jill also spent, I would say, the majority of her day in time out. Ok, well only 2 minutes, but gosh I think it should have been longer. Her new thing is to hit Aaron in the head with her sippy cup, so she has to sit in the corner for 1 minute. I think I need to find a new place though, because apparently that corner is fun.

Both the kids are getting another front tooth and a molar (ouch) and I have to say they are handling it really well. Other than that not much to report, hope you had a great day!

Doing the shimmy shake...
Yesterday I came to the realization that not only do I need to watch what I say, I need to watch my gestures as well, especially with my little angel Jill. Now, it's not as bad as you think, there are no middle fingers or anything like that flying around here, but there are some arm crossing and hands on the hips going around. Jill's been crossing her arms a lot lately, which I do all the time mainly because I never know what to do with my arms, so this wasn't really shocking to see her do. The hands on the hips though, and when we are either frustrated or being sassy, that's the kicker. I can't believe she knows when to break that out. The fun has just begun, right? Aaron knows when to throw in a smile to get himself out of trouble (just like his Daddy). It's hard to be mad at him when he throws his head back, closes his eyes and puts on his biggest drooly smile (Scott too, I'm kidding).
I forgot to mention this over the weekend, but my sister Cathy and niece Lorren saw Disney/Pixar's "UP" over the weekend (said it was cute by the way) and told me that the one character reminded them of Scott. Ok, he doesn't just remind you of Scott, he is Scott, seriously! So we're sitting here talking about it and Scott tells me that he gave the head of Pixar a 4 hour train tour when he still worked at Disney, and I'm like "Oh my gosh did you two take a picture together!?" Well he can't remember, but seriously, the resemblance is scary! Where are the royalty checks Disney/Pixar???? Needless to say Scott has a Halloween costume this year!
The kids are still on their Wiggles kick too. I'm not going to lie I thought the DVD was super cute and couldn't imagine getting sick of it. Week 2 of The Wiggles "You make me feel like dancing" and I'm over it. I mean it's a cute DVD, they love it, the songs are cute and catchy of course, but man.... I find myself singing "One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, one nod of the head, stand up, turn round, sit down keep moving" in my head and the most random times. It's actually on right now, and there they are dancing along and laughing, and here I am having a hard time typing this because I'm singing along. This is my favorite song on the DVD, seriously, I love it. I would so put it on my iPod in a heartbeat....
Nothing else new to report. My backyard is a savanna again so no playing in the yard today :( Hope you have a great day!

Lots of visits
Today was a pretty busy day for us. This morning we went by the Lyons house to help out with their garage sale (note if you want to have a garage sale, do so on a Saturday, not Sunday). The kids got to play for a little bit and then we came home so the kiddos could nap and have lunch. After lunch our neighbors came over to give the kids their birthday presents (super cute Disney towels for when they go swimming at Mimi and PawPaw's). It was nice to sit an visit with them. After they left Mimi and PawPaw came over for dinner, by that point the kids were pooped and not in the best of moods. Here is some video from today, hope you had a great weekend!

Here fishy fishy!
Yesterday was an interesting day to say the least. My kiddos are surprising me with all the new things they do. Jill decided after her morning nap that she needed her blankets out of her crib, the only problem was Aaron was still sleeping and the door was closed. Being the problem solver that she is, Jill grabbed one of her toys, walked over to the door and proceeded to bang on it until Aaron woke up. Success! She walked in, smiled at Aaron, grabbed her blankets and left. Awesome! Then my darling angel learned how to open one of the sippy cups and dumped it all over herself and splashed in the puddle. She was so proud of herself too. Then there is my darling Aaron. Aaron has learned that the light switch is next to his crib and if he plays with the one closest to him it turns the fan on and off. We listened to him turning the fan on and off for almost an hour last night. He was very proud of himself though, I opened the door and he was all smiles. It was almost like he was trying to say "Hey Mom look at this!"
Here's a photo of Jill watching herself cry....seriously...
Today we took the kids to the Florida Aquarium in Tampa. We went a few months ago with everyone and decided to make a trip back. I need to learn to check the events calendar before we go anywhere though, they were having Scouts (boys and girls) day today. There were people everywhere! It was fine when we first go there, but after lunch it was a total madhouse and we ended up leaving. The kids got to walk around for a little bit though while we were there, which was good, it let them stretch their legs since they had been sitting for so long. The aquarium was even nice enough to hold our stroller for us so we didn't have to juggle that too. Here is some video of the eels (Scott's favorite) and river otters, and photos of us from the day...
